This role has end-to-end responsibility for VAT compliance, bookkeeping, financial statements, statutory filings, and audit liaison, across UK- and UAE-connected entities and client structures.This is a technical, control-focused role requiring deep knowledge of UK and UAE accounting, tax, and regulatory frameworks, and is critical to maintaining robust compliance standards as the Dubai practice scales.What you will be doingVAT & Indirect Tax (UK & UAE)Full ownership of UAE VAT compliance, including:VAT registrations and de-registrationsPreparation, review, and submission of VAT returnsVAT reconciliations, controls, and technical reviewsSupport and review UK VAT compliance where relevantAct as the technical VAT contact for the businessLiaise with the UAE Federal Tax Authority (FTA) and UK HMRC as required, including audits and enquiriesOversee and review bookkeeping for the Dubai entity and UK-linked structures to a high standardEnsure accuracy, completeness, and consistency of accounting recordsPerform balance sheet reviews, reconciliations, and control checksPrepare and review statutory financial statements in accordance with IFRS and UK accounting standards (as applicable)Manage month-end and year-end close processesSupport budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysisAct as the primary point of contact for external auditors (UK and UAE)Respond to audit queries and manage the process through to sign-offSupport internal reviews and regulatory inspectionsPrepare and review UK and UAE tax returns, filings, and statutory submissionsMonitor legislative and regulatory changes in both jurisdictions and assess impactMaintain internal compliance manuals, technical guidance, and proceduresEnsure compliance with internal policies, professional standards, and regulatory requirementsSupport KYC/AML processes and internal risk assessmentsIdentify and escalate compliance, accounting, or control risksStrengthen internal controls as the Dubai office and client base growYour knowledge, skills and experienceProven hands-on experience in both the UK and UAEStrong technical accounting and compliance backgroundDemonstrable experience in:UK and UAE VAT complianceBookkeeping and statutory financial statementsAudit preparation and auditor liaisonExcellent knowledge of IFRS and UK accounting standards and UK and UAE regulatory environmentsHighly detail-oriented with strong technical judgementExperience within a professional services or regulated firmExposure to UK corporation tax and UAE corporate tax complianceAbility to operate autonomously in a growing international officeACA, ACCA, CPA or equivalent professional qualificationSend us your CV & apply for this role...Your name *Your number *Tell us why you\'re right for the role *How did you hear about us? * How did you hear about us?Preferred office location *ManchesterLondonLiverpoolLeedsBirmingham*I consent to my details being stored by Sedulo abiding by our privacy policy .See more careersTake a look at some other career opportunities...See our cultureFind out why you should be part of something special... #J-18808-Ljbffr
