Job Responsibilities for Tax Policy Analyst

Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of FTA's Tax and operational policies.
  • Support with research and tax technical input to support the Tax Policy Section work streams.
  • Support with the identification of areas for improvement in FTA's Tax and operational policies.
  • Preparing draft technical reports; letters; presentation slides; and, other general technical correspondence.
  • Monitor adherence to FTA's Tax and operational policies.
  • Support the Senior Tax Policy Expert on tax technical work streams including inter-alia clarifications, guides, publications, press releases.
  • Monitor and ensure that team KPIs are being met for all Tax Policy Section services.
  • Keep abreast of pending laws, industry changes, trends and best practices, assessing the potential impact of these changes on Tax and operational policies.
  • Support the Enquiry Administration team in responding to technical and written inquiries related to tax policy as needed, in coordination with the Senior Tax Policy Expert or Tax Policy Expert.
  • Coordinate with the Awareness and Education team to prepare and implement awareness sessions pertaining to tax policy.
  • Prepare tax technical presentations and training material as required.
  • Assist in meeting the department KPIs as well as own KPIs.
Minimum Qualifications

Academic background: Bachelor's degree in Law, International Relations, or Economics.

Years of experience required: 0 - 2 years.
