The Electrical QA/QC Engineer ensuresthat all electrical systems, installations, and materials used inprojects comply with industry standards, project specifications,and relevant international codes. This role requires overseeing thequality assurance and quality control processes, preparingdocumentation, and coordinating with project teams to achievehigh-quality projectexecution.

Roles AndResponsibilities

  • Under general supervision supportswith the Implementation of the Project Quality Management System(PQMS) in accordance with the requirements of ISO 9001:2015 andcontract requirements.
  • Under generalsupervision supports with the implement the project qualityrequirements in accordance with the PQP andcontract
  • Under general supervision supports theaudit program to monitor adherence and identify improvement to thePQMS.
  • Monitor and report to the Project QualityManager on the effectiveness of the PQMS.
  • Undergeneral supervision uses knowledge and skills in identifydeviations from project requirements, and ensure that systems andprocedures are established to avoidrecurrence
  • Under general supervision supportsin the monitoring of the application and effectiveness of thePQMS
  • Under general supervision supports andassists supplier and subcontractor quality plans and programs forany purchase orders / contracts placed, asapplicable.
  • Develop and implement qualityassurance (QA) and quality control (QC) procedures and plans forelectrical works.
  • Monitor and controlinspections of electrical materials, equipment, and systems toensure compliance with approved specifications, drawings, andstandards.
  • Ensure that all manufacturing andprocurement activities meet the required quality levels and projectrequirements.
  • Review and maintain QA/QCdocumentation, including inspection and test plans (ITPs), methodstatements, and quality records.
  • Generateperiodic quality reports for managementreview.
  • Communicate with project stakeholdersregarding quality-related matters, deviations, andimprovements.
  • Collaborate with procurementteams to ensure purchased materials and equipment meet specifiedquality standards.

EducationalExperience

  • Bachelor's degree inElectrical Engineering or a relatedfield.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience inQA/QC for electrical systems in manufacturing or industrialprojects.
  • Knowledge of international standardsand codes such as:
    • IEC (InternationalElectrotechnical Commission)
    • IEEE (Institute ofElectrical and Electronics Engineers)
    • NEC(National Electrical Code)
    • BS (BritishStandards)
    • ASTM (American Society for TestingandMaterials)
  • ProfessionalAccreditation preferred
  • Successful completionof ISO 9001:2015 quality auditor training or transition course,preferred.

    • Ensuring theaccuracy of inspection data and reporting anynon-conformities.

  • StandardsandCompliance:

    • Ensuringthat products meet internal and external standards, such as ISO9001, ASTM, or other industry-specificcertifications.
    • Keeping up to date withindustry regulations and ensuring that products comply with allapplicable standards.
    • Managing certificationprocesses and working with regulatory agencies asneeded.

  • RootCause Analysis and ProblemSolving:

    • Investigatingdefects, failures, or deviations from quality standards todetermine the root causes.
    • Collaborating withproduction, engineering, or development teams to correct issues andimplement corrective actions.
    • Usingproblem-solving methodologies like Fishbone (Ishikawa) diagrams, 5Whys, or Failure Mode Effects Analysis(FMEA).

  • ContinuousImprovement(CI):

    • Identifyingopportunities for process improvements to enhance product qualityand reduce defects.
    • Implementing and promotingLean, Six Sigma, or other CI methodologies to drive operationalexcellence.
    • Collaborating with teams to ensurethe successful implementation of improvementinitiatives.

  • DocumentationandReporting:

    • Maintainingdetailed records of inspections, tests, andaudits.
    • Preparing reports on quality findings,corrective actions taken, and process improvementsmade.
    • Tracking and reporting on quality metricsand KPIs tostakeholders.
