What You'llDo

  • Build along-term vision on how we can rethink our customer acquisition andengagement strategies leveraging data in our decisionmaking.
  • Drive exploratory analysis tounderstand the ecosystem, user behavior; identifying new levers tohelp move metrics and build models of user behaviors for analysisand product enhancements.
  • Shape and influencedata/ML models and instrumentation to optimize the productexperience and generate insights on new areas of opportunity andnew products.
  • Provide product leadership bysharing data-based recommendation to communicate state of business,root cause of change in metrics and experimentation resultsinfluencing product and businessdecision
  • Implement scalable machine learningalgorithms that will be used in production on bigdata.
  • Embark on exploratory data analysisprojects to achieve better understanding of phenomena as well as todiscover untapped areas of growth andoptimization.
  • Answer complex analytic questionsfrom big data sets to help Careem shape its products and servicesin a better way.
  • Help define and track theappropriate key metrics for specificprojects.
  • Design and run randomized controlledexperiments, analyze the resulting data and communicate resultswith other teams.
  • You will always challenge thestatus quo and continually investigate new data processingtechnologies and seek to ensure that we follow the industry bestpractices.
Desired candidate profile
  • Experience in data mining, predictive modeling,time series analysis, machine learning, Big Data methodologies,transformation and cleaning of both structured and unstructureddata.
  • Advanced degree in a quantitativediscipline such as Physics, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering orComputer Science.
  • Strong problem solving andcoding skills.
  • Solid knowledge of andexperience with marketplace problems in ride hailing and deliveryservices.
  • Solid knowledge of AB testing,classic ML and DL
  • Solid understanding ofrecommendations, learning to rank, uplift modeling and matchingproblems.
  • Fluency in English along withexcellent oral and written communicationskills.
  • Proficiency and demonstrated experiencein: Python, SQL, Spark, Hive.
  • Demonstratedexperience with database technologies (e.g. Hadoop, BigQuery,Amazon EMR, Hive, Oracle, SAP, DB2, Teradata, MS SQL Server,MySQL).
  • Demonstrated experience with businessintelligence and visualization tools (Tableau, MicroStrategy,ChartIO, Qlik) along with geospatial data processing skills is aplus.
  • Knowledge of Agilemethodologies.
