Roles and responsibilities
  • Conductfeasibility/conceptual studies & in-house engineering forsmall and medium size projects
  • Prepare scope ofwork for external Engineering Consultants and EPC Contractors fortheexecution of jobs.
  • Review the design worksand studies performed by the Engineering Consultants andEPCContractor, and ensure that design works and studies are inaccordance with the technicalrequirements and meet thestandards.
  • Review and approve drawings,specifications and technical documents for all ElectricalDesignrelated works
  • Participate in thetechnical evaluation of tenders and issuance of recommendations ontechnicalbids.
  • Monitor the performance ofEngineering Contractors/ Consultants & provide necessarydesigninputs and follow up during the execution of the basic anddetailed engineering.
  • To have responsibilityfor all electrical engineering deliverables and ensure that theyconform toall applicable engineering codes and standards as well asthe Company's policiesandprocedures.
  • Ensure that the state-of-arttechnology is applied throughout the engineering phase forcosteffective solutions and application of value-added engineeringthroughout the assigned works.
  • Participate inthe pre-qualification of engineering consultants/ vendors andreview the bidderslist.
  • Provide input/ updateEngineering Procedures, Company standards, TechnicalSpecifications,Design Philosophies and EngineeringGuidelines.
  • Develop Business Cases, ExecutionStrategies and Scope of Work based on Statement ofRequirementsreceived from various stakeholders.
  • Providetechnical assistance, coordination and liaise with other disciplineengineers within the Company and other business units on allaspects of technical and general requirements to ensure aconsistent approach to projectcompletion.
  • Impart training particularly to UAEnationals to meet their integrationtargets.
  • Take part in the selection ofelectrical equipment and energyoptimization.
  • Prepare Design Basis,Philosophies, Specifications, Data sheet, Load List, Schedules,Sizing Calculations, Single Line Diagrams, Reports, EquipmentLayouts, Cable Routing Drawings, Bill of Materials, etc., relatedto Electrical Engineering
  • Participate in allproject Safety Workshops, E-HAZOP and Design Review Workshops asnecessary.
  • Monitor progress of all Electricalengineering activities done by Engineering Consultants and EPCContractors, to ensure quality and timelydelivery.
  • Provide direction and guidance onTechnical Queries and Deviation Requests relating to electricalengineering and liaise with Company Technical Authority for reviewand approvals.
  • Provide technical support interms of material inspection, Factory Acceptance Testing,etc.
  • Identify any areas of concern with respectto progress and / or quality and recommend corrective actions asrequired.
  • Attend weekly progress meetings andgenerate status reports for the Engineering / ProjectManager.
  • Ensure all lessons learnt are capturedand shared.
  • Conduct Site Survey visits tooffshore facilities as necessary.

Senior Electrical Engineer Job Description

  • Bachelor's degree inElectrical / Electrical & Electronics engineering from areputed university, though Master Degree is addedadvantage.
  • Minimum of 12 years of experience inthe Oil & Gas Industry of which at least 5 years beingrelated to design of Offshore Electricalfacilities.
  • Previous experience in ProjectManagement Consultancy (PMC) or Direct Client Role related toOffshore / Onshore Oil & Gas Electrical facilities is addedadvantage.
  • Fluency in EnglishLanguage.
  • Conversant with relevantInternational Code & Standards related to Electricalengineering and in general Oil & Gasindustry.
  • Detailed Hands-on Experience onElectrical Design and Installation Engineering is essentialincluding the following:

Brown field works, Review andapproval of engineering for all Vendor prepared drawing &documents, knowledge in Solar Power System, Cathodic ProtectionSystem (Piping, Pipelines, Vessels & Tanks) &Electrical Heat Tracing Systems, Offshore Platform / Field Layouts,Assessment of Survey reports, etc.,

  • Proficiency in Electrical EngineeringSoftwares such as ETAP for Power System Study, Battery SizingCalculations, Lighting Calculations (using Dialux or similarsoftware) and other general-purpose softwares etc. Familiarity inusing Aveva Electrical and Smart PlantElectrical.
