Roles and responsibilities

As the Financial Controller, you willmanage and oversee the provision of financial support, accountingservices and financial reporting in order to ensure compliance withgroup financial and commercial procedures, controls and policiesand provision of timely financial support and documentation asrequired.

Responsibilities notlimited:

  • Ensure effective,timely and accurate development of financial statements, monthlyreports, and local and statutory reports that are appropriate forthe users and in accordance with generally accepted accountingprinciples (GAAP) and IFRSrequirements.
  • Supervise the financial supportprovided to management and operations team on P&L analysis,revenue and cost forecasting and review of costs and expenses inorder to ensure adequate analysis and support services are providedwhen required.
  • Monitor and contribute to themanagement of receivables, fleet, and insurance renewals in orderto ensure these financial administrative activities are completedtimely and in compliance with the financial policies andprocedures.
  • Manage and verify the Fixed Assetand inventory registry as per Masdar regulations for use inassessing total inventory value and calculatingdepreciation.
  • Monitor, control and analyse theexpenditures in coordination with concerned internal departmentstofacilitate the business operations and achieve a satisfactory levelof financial performance.
  • Review and overseethe development of all supporting information/ documentationrequire for the annual audit with internal auditors and approvedexternal auditors, in order to ensure timely provision of relevantinformation which will support in the audit process.

Qualifications

PreferredQualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree inrelevant subject (business administration, finance,economics).
  • Qualified accountant CA, ACCA orsimilar.

PreferredExperience:

  • At least 8 years of experience infinancial management, accounting or audit in major infrastructureprojects, construction companies or big 4 accountingfirms.
  • Experience in project finance is anadded advantage.
Desired candidate profile

Financial Management andReporting

  • FinancialReporting : Oversee the preparation of financialstatements, ensuring they are accurate, complete, and compliantwith accounting standards and regulations (e.g., GAAP, IFRS).Ensure monthly, quarterly, and annual reports are delivered ontime.
  • FinancialAnalysis : Provide analysis of financial performance,including variances from budget, trends, and potential financialrisks or opportunities. Use financial data to provide insights andrecommendations to seniormanagement.
  • Budgeting andForecasting : Lead the budgeting and forecastingprocess, working closely with department heads to prepare detailedbudgets and forecasts. Monitor performance against budget andprovide proactive recommendations for course correction ifneeded.

InternalControls andCompliance

  • InternalControls : Develop and implement financial controlsto safeguard the organization's assets and ensureaccurate financial reporting. Conduct regular audits to ensurecompliance with internal policies andprocedures.
  • Compliance :Ensure compliance with tax laws, accounting standards, andregulatory requirements. Oversee the preparation and submission oftax filings, audits, andreports.
  • RiskManagement : Identify financial risks and developstrategies to mitigate them. Work with other departments to assessand address financial risks within businessoperations.

Cash FlowManagement

  • CashFlow Forecasting : Oversee cash flow management toensure the organization maintains sufficient liquidity to meet itsobligations and capitalize on growthopportunities.
  • Working CapitalManagement : Manage working capital to ensureeffective utilization of resources, minimize costs, and optimizecash flow.
  • TreasuryManagement : Oversee the company's treasuryoperations, including managing relationships with banks, financialinstitutions, and investmentmanagers.

TeamLeadership andDevelopment

  • TeamManagement : Lead and manage the finance andaccounting team, including accountants, financial analysts, andother staff. Provide direction, mentorship, and professionaldevelopmentopportunities.
  • PerformanceMonitoring : Set performance goals for team membersand conduct regular performance reviews. Ensure the team is alignedwith organizational goals and financial bestpractices.
  • Collaboration :Work closely with other departments, such as operations, sales, andHR, to ensure financial information is accurately integrated intoall aspects of thebusiness.

StrategicFinancialGuidance

  • FinancialStrategy : Provide strategic financial advice to theexecutive team, assisting in long-term planning and decision-makingprocesses. Analyze business opportunities, mergers andacquisitions, and capital investments to support strategicobjectives.
  • CostManagement : Implement cost control measures andidentify areas for financial efficiency. Monitor costs and helpdrive initiatives for cost reduction without compromising qualityor growth potential.
