Job Description: General Manager Production & Factory (Plant Head)

Position Overview: As the General Manager, you'll take the helm of our chemical plant operations, steering an array of critical functions including production, maintenance, shipping, receiving, and quality control. Your mission? To elevate plant performance and drive production output while ensuring operational excellence. You will lead a team of managers dedicated to upholding our safety and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities: Plant Operations Management:
  1. Direct plant operations to achieve outstanding production and quality targets
  2. Work in tandem with department managers to ensure seamless operations
  3. Champion cost management and refine processes for efficiency
Team Leadership:
  1. Guide employee growth through performance reviews and career development planning
  2. Encourage a vibrant workplace culture that values teamwork and mentorship
  3. Ensure effective strategies for recruiting and retaining top talent
Quality Control:
  1. Partner with the Quality Control team to uphold product excellence through rigorous testing
  2. Oversee laboratory analyses to guarantee adherence to quality benchmarks
Safety & Compliance:
  1. Champion safe working practices and cultivate a secure workplace environment
  2. Adapt plant facilities and proactively address safety issues to ensure compliance
Operational Planning:
  1. Craft policies that boost operational efficiency and maintain cleanliness
  2. Oversee project progress and coordinate maintenance activities
Communication & Reporting:
  1. Maintain open lines of communication with the Director of Operations regarding plant performance
  2. Collaborate cross-functionally to address and resolve operational challenges
  3. Manage vendor relationships related to production services effectively
Continuous Improvement:
  1. Lead continuous improvement efforts aimed at optimizing plant performance
Requirements Education & Experience:
  1. Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field preferred
  2. 10+ years in SME Chemical Manufacturing with operations management experience
  3. 5+ years in management within an operating processing plant
License: Valid UAE driving license.Skills & Competencies:
  1. Strong leadership and management skills
  2. Effective English communication (written and verbal)
  3. Proficient in Word, Excel, Outlook; open to learning new software
  4. Strong problem-solving, organizational, and multi-tasking abilities
  5. Good business acumen in the global chemical industry
Physical Requirements:
  1. Ability to manage confined space entry and lift up to 50 lbs
  2. Capability to work outdoors in various weather conditions
  3. Can perform data entry while seated for extended periods

Work Environment: Self-directed role needing knowledge of company policies and readiness for emergencies to ensure 24-hour facility operation.

Additional Responsibilities:
  1. Promote company vision, mission, and values
  2. Assist the Director of Operations with capital requests and initiatives
  3. Perform additional duties to ensure plant success
