Roles and responsibilities

1. Leadership and TeamManagement

  • TeamOversight: Managing the accounting and financeteams, ensuring efficiency, accuracy, and timely completion oftasks.

2. TechnicalAccountingExpertise

  • AccountingStandards: In-depth knowledge of GAAP (GenerallyAccepted Accounting Principles) or IFRS (International FinancialReporting Standards).
  • FinancialReporting: Proficiency in preparing accuratefinancial statements, balance sheets, and incomestatements.
  • Taxation andCompliance: Expertise in corporate taxation,regulatory requirements, and ensuring compliance with laws andstandards.

3.Analytical and StrategicThinking

  • Budgetingand Forecasting: Developing and managing budgets,forecasts, and financial models to guidedecision-making.
  • DataAnalysis: Analyzing financial data to identifytrends, risks, andopportunities.
  • StrategicPlanning: Supporting long-term business planningwith actionable financialinsights.

4. FinancialSystems andTechnology

  • ERPSystems: Proficiency in using financial andaccounting software like SAP, Oracle, orQuickBooks.
  • Data VisualizationTools: Ability to use tools like Power BI or Tableaufor presenting financialinsights.
  • ProcessAutomation: Implementing technology to streamlineaccounting processes and improveefficiency.

KeyResponsibilities of a FinancialController

1.Financial Management andOversight

  • Budgetingand Forecasting: Developing annual budgets andfinancial forecasts, monitoring performance, and recommendingadjustments as needed.
  • Cash FlowManagement: Ensuring sufficient cash flow to meetoperational needs and strategicinvestments.
  • FinancialReporting: Preparing and presenting monthly,quarterly, and annual financial reports to senior management andstakeholders.

2.Compliance and RiskManagement

  • AuditCoordination: Managing internal and external audits,ensuring financial records are accurate andcompliant.
  • RegulatoryCompliance: Ensuring adherence to tax laws,financial regulations, and reportingstandards.
  • RiskMitigation: Identifying financial risks andimplementing controls to protect the organization'sassets.

3. OperationalEfficiency

  • SystemOptimization: Implementing and managing financialsystems to streamline accounting processes and improveaccuracy.
  • CostControl: Monitoring expenses, identifyingcost-saving opportunities, and ensuring efficient use ofresources.
  • ProcessImprovement: Developing and maintaining internalcontrols to enhance financial accuracy andefficiency.

4.Strategic Planning and DecisionSupport

  • FinancialStrategy: Contributing to the development of theorganization's financial and businessstrategies.
  • Mergers andAcquisitions: Providing financial analysis and duediligence for potential acquisitions ormergers.
  • PerformanceMonitoring: Tracking KPIs and providing insights todrive strategic initiatives.
Desired candidate profile

The Assistant Finance Manager will work closely with theAssistant Director of Finance/ Cluster Director of Finance toensure the smooth and efficient operation of the financedepartment. The ideal candidate will have a strong background infinance and accounting, excellent organizational skills, and theability to work in a fast-paced environment.

  • Assist the Financial Controller r inpreparing financial reports, budgets, andforecasts.
  • Monitor and analyze financialperformance against budget andforecast.
  • Oversee accounts payable and accountsreceivable processes.
  • Ensure compliance withhotel policies and procedures, as well as relevant laws andregulations.
  • Assist with financial audits andpayroll related activities.
  • Provide support toother departments regarding financialmatters.
  • Supervise and train finance departmentstaff.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance,Accounting, or related field.
  • 2+ years ofexperience in finance or accounting role, preferably in thehospitality industry.
  • Strong understanding offinancial principles and practices.
  • Excellentanalytical and problem-solvingskills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel andaccounting software.
  • Excellent communicationand interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work wellunder pressure and meet deadlines.
