Summary
The Financial Controller (Global & MEASAT) is responsible for the financials of the MEASAT region, as well as consolidation of HQ, USA, UK/Europe and E-Commerce financials. The financial controller is a key partner to both the regional financial controllers, as well as the heads of departments in overseeing the financial operations and providing a comprehensive and accurate vision of the performance of the function and company to help drive efficiencies and sustainability across the different HQ departments & MEASAT region. They will support the budget and monthly closing processes and will participate in the production of a thorough analysis of where the company stands monthly vs. the budget, to ensure the financial health and stability of the organization.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Financial Reporting: Prepare accurate and timely financial reports on a monthly basis, including income statements, balance sheets, cash flow statements, and variance analyses. Liaise with markets and Head of Departments to provide context to the business.
Budgeting and Forecasting: Work with Senior Director of Finance to prepare budgets on a tri-annual basis to guide the company's financial decisions. Monitor and analyze actual results against budgeted figures.
Business partnering: Collaborate closely with department heads to understand their financial needs and goals. Provide financial analysis, insights, and support to help drive their strategies and decisions.
Cost Control: Advising on cost control measures to optimize expenses while maintaining quality and standards.
Financial Analysis: Conduct in-depth financial analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and potential risks. Provide actionable insights to support strategic decision-making.
Financial Strategy: Collaborate with the executive team to develop and execute financial strategies that align with the company's growth and profitability goals.
Internal control & continuous improvement: Develop a strong documentation of the controlling functions, related tasks. Have a strong continuous improvement mindset to reflect on current processes and improve them.
Compliance: Ensure compliance with all relevant financial regulations, accounting standards, and tax requirements.
Audit and Risk Management: Coordinate and manage external audits, assess financial risks, and implement risk mitigation strategies.
ERP Systems: Ensure optimization of financial software and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems to improve efficiency and accuracy.
Cross-functional Collaboration: Foster strong relationships and partnerships with various departments to provide financial guidance and support.
Supply Chain Controlling
- Assist in the development, plan, budget, and trends of the supply chain in line with the strategy of the company.
- Budgeting and controlling of inbound costs (inbound freight, custom duties, other costs), outbound freight and warehousing, obsolete slow-moving and other logistics costs.
- Produce monthly reporting of activity in a timely manner.
- Analyze the gaps, check data consistency, challenge results, identify risks and opportunities and propose corrective actions needed to keep budget targets.
- Help to identify opportunities to optimize costs and performance.
- Participate in building the business plan of supply chain projects.
- Follow up on the financial impact of key initiatives and projects.
Marketing Controlling
- Work closely with Marketing teams to manage budgeting.
- Provide regular and timely updates to the team to understand any variances vs budget.
HR Controlling
- Maintain the master data of employee costs for the different budget cycles of the organization, in collaboration with the People and Culture Director, looking to integrate the budgeting of the employee costs within the ERP.
- Proactively drive efficiencies and build sophisticated reports across global HR, payroll and employee budgeting.
- Analyze monthly employee costs vs. budget across the different regions and HQ.
- Produce user-friendly metrics and dashboards on employee costs and headcounts.
- Support talent team generating regular salary surveys, comp and bens data, and corporate financial trends across all markets.
- Support annual audit by serving relevant teams and stakeholders with clear, concise information in a timely manner.
Other HQ departments controlling
Serving as a business partner to the other HQ department heads (IT, Admin, Legal), helping them to build their budgets, monitoring their spend vs. budget and helping them identify opportunities to optimize costs and performance.
Other roles and responsibilities
- Assist in the monthly closing and in the preparation of the monthly consolidated P&L of the company, ensuring accuracy and correct recording of the financial data.
- Work with the data analytics team to suggest new sales and expense reporting dashboards which would be useful to the business.
- Supporting the development and improvement of new and existing sales and expense reporting, focusing on utilizing the ERP to produce these reports in an efficient manner.
Requirements
- 7+ years in financial management (preferably beauty and/or luxury experience).
- Strong understanding of cosmetics industry financial practices, including inventory management and product costing, etc is a plus.
- Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field; a master's degree or relevant certification is a plus.
- Proficiency in ERP systems and Excel.
- Audit background is highly appreciated.
