Senior Analyst / Associate - Mergers & Acquisitions

The Senior Analyst/Associate in Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) will be instrumental in driving the company's growth strategy through strategic mergers, acquisitions, and joint ventures. This role involves conducting in-depth market analysis, financial modeling, and due diligence to identify and evaluate potential targets that align with the company's strategic objectives. The successful candidate will collaborate with cross-functional teams to facilitate the execution of transactions, ensuring seamless integration and alignment with organizational goals. This position requires a proactive approach, strong analytical skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels.

Main Responsibilities

Market Research and Analysis

  • Conduct comprehensive market research to identify potential acquisition targets and joint venture opportunities within the agro commodities sector.
  • Analyze industry trends, competitor activities, and market dynamics to inform strategic decisions.
  • Prepare detailed reports and presentations summarizing findings for internal stakeholders.

Financial Modeling and Valuation

  • Develop and maintain complex financial models to evaluate potential acquisitions and joint ventures.
  • Perform detailed valuation analyses using various methodologies, including DCF, comparable company analysis, and precedent transactions.
  • Assist in preparing investment memoranda and proposals for senior management and the board.
  • Lead and coordinate due diligence processes for potential acquisitions, ensuring thorough assessment of financial, operational, and legal aspects.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather necessary information and insights during the due diligence phase.
  • Identify potential risks and opportunities associated with target companies.
  • Assist in the transition from deal execution to operational integration, ensuring alignment between the deal team and operational teams.
  • Develop integration plans and track progress against key milestones post-acquisition.
  • Identify areas for synergy realization and operational improvement post-merger.

Stakeholder Management

  • Build and maintain relationships with internal stakeholders, including senior management and operational leaders, to facilitate collaboration and communication.
  • Serve as a liaison between the M&A team and other departments to ensure alignment on strategic priorities and objectives.
  • Provide regular updates to senior management on M&A activities, progress, and strategic insights.

Equity Raising and Investor Relations

  • Assist in raising equity for transactions on the sell-side, preparing necessary documentation and presentations for potential investors.
  • Engage with investment funds and equity partners to present investment opportunities and negotiate terms.
  • Support the development of investor communication strategies to enhance relationships and secure funding.

Job Requirements

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Economics, or a related field; Master's degree or MBA preferred.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Professional certification (e.g., CFA, CPA) is a plus.
  • Masters Degree

Required Experience

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in M&A, private equity, or investment banking.

Preferred Experience

  • A combination of agro-commodity industry knowledge, transaction expertise, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
