Middle East FinanceOperations team is responsible for managing the technicalaccounting transactional processing and statutory compliance forall AtkinsRalis companies operating in the Middle East &Africa region ensuring all internal and external reportingdeadlines are met. The team also assists regional tax team inpreparation of tax returns and documentation supporting taxassessments and audits. The team ensures compliance with theStandard Operating Procedures and maintains and evaluates internalcontrol which govern the core financialprocesses.

Responsibilities:

  • TheFinancial Accountant will join an existing team of finance andcompliance experts within the Finance Operations who ensure adelivery of a high quality statutory and tax compliance functionfor all ME&A entities. The Financial Accountant will focuson preparation (and review as applicable) of documentationschedules and reconciliations required for the tax complianceactivities across the ME&A region assisting the regionaltax team in preparing tax returns and tax assessments &audits. The role will also assist with statutory complianceincluding but not limited to financial statements financial auditsreconciliations and corporatereporting.
  • Prepare schedules andreconciliations to support Corporate Income tax and transferpricing returns for the ME&A entities mainly operating inKSA UAE Qatar Oman Bahrain and Egypt.
  • Lead thepreparation of VAT and WHT returns for the ME&A entitieswith assistance from team members.
  • Assist withtax inspections and audits and respond to questions and queriesfrom the regional tax team as they relate to finance data andschedules prepared/maintained by Finance Operationsteam.
  • Work closely with the regional tax teamand serve as the point of contact for tax compliance matters forME&A region.
  • Initiate implement andmanage processes to ensure data and documentation is maintained tomeet tax compliance requirements in the ME&Aregion.
  • Assist regional tax team with periodictax forecasts deferred tax calculations and postings requiredinternally.
  • Manage and assist with as requiredwith statutory and regulatory finance compliance e.g. ESRnotifications einvoicing CbCR etc for the ME&Aregion.
  • Assist Finance Operations team withother statutory compliance and financial accounting matters asneeded.
  • Ensure compliance with Groups StandardOperating Procedures and bestpractices;
  • Coordinating with and providingsamples to internal and externalauditors;
  • Develop strong working relationshipswith team members and other keystakeholders;
  • Adhoc support to relevantbusiness improvementprojects.

TechnicalCompetencies

Essential

  • FullyQualified ACCA/CIMA/ACA/CPA or other recognised Accountingqualification;
  • Minimum 3 yearspostqualification experience preferably in the Middle East withsome experience of working in a tax role for aconstruction/engineering consultancyorganisation;
  • Sound knowledge of Middle Easttax regulations and requirements;
  • Advancedknowledge of Microsoft Excel. Working knowledge of other MicrosoftOffice tools;
  • High standard of (numerical)presentation skills;
  • Excellent communication inEnglish (both written and oral).
  • Experience ofinteracting with multiple businesses and financefunctions.

Desirable

  • Workingknowledge of JD Edwards Enterprise Planning Management (EPM) andOracle.
  • Knowledge of Data Modelling PowerPivotand PowerBI tools is an advantage.
  • Big 4experience as a senior associate.
  • Grasp overArabic language will be an addedadvantage.
