  • Liaise with otherdiscipline foremen / supervision to ensure the optimum utilizationof available resources, with the overall objective of successfulcompletion of the project.
  • Assist the seniorforeman and supervisors in planningactivities.
  • Ensure that the workers areproperly supplied with machineries, tools, equipment and materialsand everything is in proper order and state ofmaintenance.
  • Perform inspections to ensure thatthe workers performance is up to the setstandards.
  • Create progress reports on a dailybasis and ensure that any significant information is communicatedto the supervisor i.e. resource shortfalls, surplus, HSEQconcerns.
  • Work as a team leader responsible fordevelopment / motivation of sub-ordinates, on the job training andperformance appraisal of the teammembers
  • Follow the day-to-day operationsrelated to own job to ensure continuity ofwork
  • Treats workers fairly, openly and withrespect. Listen to their views and take this intoconsideration.

Experience/ Qualification &Skills

  • Proficient inall practical aspects and be able to repair equipments /machineries including systematic strip down and re-building ofmechanical equipment and components relating to, but not limitedto, cranes, winches, pumps, compressors, valves, machine tools andother similar plant equipments.
  • Secondaryschool.
  • Industrial / vocational training,Leadership training ,Presentation skills.
  • 5-6years' relevant experience in heavy mechanicalmaintenance workshop .

    • Lead andsupervise a team of mechanical technicians, workers, andsubcontractors, ensuring that tasks are completed efficiently andaccording to schedule.
    • Assign daily tasks tomechanical workers and ensure that work is executed correctly andsafely.
    • Conduct regular team meetings todiscuss the progress of projects and address any issues orchallenges.

  • MechanicalInstallation andMaintenance :

    • Overseethe installation, maintenance, and repair of mechanical systems andequipment, such as HVAC, plumbing, pumps, motors, conveyors, andpressure systems.
    • Ensure that mechanical workis performed according to plans, specifications, and industrystandards.
    • Troubleshoot mechanical failures,coordinate repairs, and ensure systems areoperational.

  • QualityControl :

    • Ensure thequality of work meets company standards and industry codes (e.g.,ASME, ISO).
    • Inspect completed work to verifythat it complies with safety standards and technicalrequirements.
    • Document inspections, qualityreports, and any discrepancies found during inspections ortesting.

  • Safetyand Compliance :

    • Enforcestrict safety guidelines and ensure that workers follow propersafety protocols, including PPE (personal protective equipment)usage and hazard recognition.
    • Monitor workareas to ensure that safety practices are followed and report anysafety violations.
    • Ensure compliance withlocal, national, and international standards and regulations, suchas OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) or otherrelevant authorities.
    • Conduct safety audits andaccident investigations whenneeded.

  • ProjectCoordination andScheduling :

    • Collaboratewith project managers, engineers, and other departments to ensureproper coordination of mechanicalactivities.
    • Assist in planning and schedulingwork, ensuring that projects are completed on time and withinbudget.
    • Monitor labor and equipment usage toensure efficient use of resources and minimizedowntime.

  • Materialand ToolManagement :

    • Ensure thatnecessary materials, parts, tools, and equipment are available andin good working condition for mechanicaltasks.
    • Maintain inventory of mechanical toolsand equipment, and track usage to prevent shortages oroverstocking.
    • Order supplies and materials asrequired for the smooth operation of theproject.

  • TrainingandDevelopment :

    • Providetraining to new workers and junior technicians on mechanicalsystems, safety procedures, and bestpractices.
    • Mentor team members to help developtheir skills and ensure they meet companystandards.
    • Conduct on-the-job training andevaluate teamperformance.

  • ReportingandDocumentation :

    • Maintainaccurate records of work performed, including time sheets, materialusage, and equipmentmaintenance.
