About the Role:

As a Tax Associate (VAT Specialist) , you will play a crucial role in managing VAT compliance, advisory, and reporting for our clients. You will ensure that all tax filings are accurate, timely, and in compliance with the latest UAE VAT laws and GCC regulations. Additionally, you will provide expert guidance on VAT structuring, VAT exemptions, and VAT audits while working closely with internal teams and external stakeholders.

This role is ideal for professionals with a strong background in VAT laws who are looking to work in a dynamic and collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities:

1. VAT Compliance & Reporting:

  1. Prepare, review, and submit VAT returns, ensuring accuracy and adherence to deadlines.
  2. Conduct VAT reconciliations and resolve discrepancies.
  3. Ensure compliance with VAT record-keeping requirements.
  4. Handle VAT registrations, deregistrations, and amendments.

2. VAT Advisory & Support:

  1. Provide expert guidance to clients on VAT implications, exemptions, and compliance strategies.
  2. Assist businesses in structuring their transactions in a VAT-efficient manner.
  3. Interpret and apply VAT regulations to specific business scenarios.
  4. Respond to client queries related to VAT and indirect taxation.
  5. Assist in VAT audits and reviews conducted by tax authorities. Liaise with government tax authorities and respond to inquiries.
  6. Identify VAT risks and propose solutions to mitigate exposure.

3. Continuous Learning & Industry Updates:

  1. Stay updated with the latest changes in VAT regulations in the UAE and GCC.
  2. Conduct internal training sessions to enhance team knowledge on VAT matters.
  3. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure tax compliance across departments.

Who We're Looking For:

  1. Bachelor's degree in accounting, ACCA, CPA, CMA, CA Inter, Finance, Taxation, or a related field.
  2. Minimum 2+ years of experience in VAT compliance, tax advisory, or a similar role.
  3. Strong knowledge of UAE VAT laws .
  4. Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Xero, QuickBooks, Zoho Books ) and MS Excel.
  5. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail.
  6. Strong communication skills to interact with clients and regulatory authorities.
