KeyResponsibilities:

Transmissionand Substation CablePlanning:

  • Leadthe planning and design of transmission and substation cablesystems including both medium and highvoltage cables ensuring theymeet performance safety and regulatoryrequirements.
  • Overseethe development of routing plans installation methods and cablespecifications.
  • Conductindepth load flow studies and fault analysis for the design andoptimization of transmission cable systems and substationconnections.

ProjectManagement andExecution:

  • Planschedule and manage the execution of cable installation projectsensuring all work is completed in compliance with quality safetyand environmental standards.
  • Monitorand update project schedules ensuring alignment with overalltransmission network goals andtimelines.

Design& TechnicalLeadership:

  • Leadthe design review process for cable installations on transmissionlines and substations ensuring designs are technically sound andfeasible.
  • Provide advanced technicalguidance on cable system layout routing connections and protectionschemes.

AdvancedData Analysis andReporting:

  • Analysecable system performance load flow data and fault occurrences toidentify potential improvements in network reliability andefficiency.
  • Prepare detailedtechnical reports and presentations for senior managementstakeholders and regulatory bodies highlighting key findingsproject progress andrecommendations.

CostControl and ResourceManagement:

  • Leadthe development of cost estimates material requirements and labourresources for cableprojects.
  • Monitor projectexpenditures and ensure resources are allocated efficientlyrecommending costeffective solutions without compromising onquality.
Requirements
  • Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering Power Systems Engineering or arelated field (Master spreferred).
  • Advanced training orcertifications in power systems planning cable system design orproject management (e.g. PMP) is aplus.
  • Minimum of 45 years of handsonexperience in planning designing and managing transmission andsubstation cable systems with a strong emphasis on highvoltage andmediumvoltage cables.
  • Proven trackrecord in managing largescale cable installation and upgradeprojects within transmission and substationenvironments.
  • Extensive experiencein cable system design cable protection fault analysis andintegration with other power networkcomponents.
  • Indepth knowledge ofpower transmission substation infrastructure and cable designstandards.
  • Advanced expertise incable sizing fault current analysis load flow studies andelectrical networkmodelling.
  • Familiarity withsimulation and design software tools such as PSS/E ETAP CYMEAutoCAD orsimilar.
