Responsibilities:

  1. Assist with a broad range of legal/regulatory matters, including regulatory perimeter assessments, licensing/registration applications, product assessment, and regulatory investigations across the Middle East, with a focus on the UAE and Bahrain.
  2. Provide legal/regulatory support to local and global business teams on product launches and marketing campaigns (including advising on scope and recommended adjustments), draft product terms and ensure compliance with regulatory rules.
  3. Work closely with various operational functions (e.g. Finance, Compliance and product teams) to support and advise on efficient and compliant operations.
  4. Proactively identify legal problems, solutions and potential support needed to provide strategic support to local business teams.
  5. Tag-team with legal team members in other time zones around the world to collectively provide around-the-clock legal support for the business.
  6. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of applicable laws and regulations in a rapidly changing legal/regulatory landscape for crypto, to provide strategic and forward-looking advice and foster compliance.
Requirements:
  1. Qualified lawyer of a common law jurisdiction, with a minimum of 5-7 years post qualification experience.
  2. Interactions with the financial regulatory authorities will be advantageous.
  3. In-house experience gained from relevant industries - Financial Services, Fintech or other Technology Corporations are highly preferred.
  4. Possesses solid legal technical expertise as well as sound business and people judgment sense.
  5. Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, global organization maintaining close contact with relevant teams across multiple locations.
  6. Excellent technical drafting skills and attention to detail.
  7. Excellent problem solving skills and ability to provide useful and efficient counsel.
  8. Hands on at work and can be independent in managing complex projects.
  9. Experience working on crypto-related legal matters preferred, but not essential.
  10. Arabic language skills preferred, but not essential.
