Roles and responsibilities
  • Technical –carry out assigned asset integrity consultancy work, such asresearching problems, engineering calculations, preparation ofreports etc., with minimal supervision. Provide technical supportto graduate engineer as required.
  • Projectmanagement – manage small projects as directed and inaccordance with all relevant companyprocedures.
  • Business development –support commercial and sales in meeting with clients and identifytechnical scope of work and support win jobs, hence willingness totravel within the region and globally (expected 25% of time) awayfrom office base.

Responsibilities

  • Executing pipelines integrity (FFS /RBI) assessments under the supervision of the Asset IntegrityManger and governance of the Chief Discipline Engineer(CDE)
  • Executing plant / pressurised staticassets integrity (FFS / RBI) assessments under the supervision ofthe Project Manager and governance of the Chief Discipline Engineer(CDE).
  • Providing guidance to a team of youngengineers on assets FFS and RBI.
  • Should be ableto produce hand calculations as and whenrequired.
  • Producing high quality deliverablesas part of the project.
  • Be competent to checkand QAQC calculations and reports produced by other engineersrelated to assets FFS / RBI.
  • Interact withQuality Assurance for quality issues; strictly ensure compliancewith Company's Qualityprocedures.
  • Interface and provideclarification, guidance and technical support to the client onon-going projects
  • Interface and identify scopeof work while discussing clients integrity related problems and howPenspen can help their needs (business developmentrole)
  • Quality, Health & Safety andEnvironmental Management System must be implemented within the areaof operation as per the company approved procedures and ISOStandards.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 10 years of asset integrityengineering and management experience in the Oil andGas
  • API 580certification
  • Bachelor's degreequalification in Mechanical engineering or similar.Master's degree is an advantage.
  • NACEaccreditation is an advantage.
  • Professionalmembership with an engineering institute (ImechE, ASMEetc)
  • Experience in Meridium Asset PerformanceManagement Software APM by GE is highlydesirable
Desired candidate profile

  • Asset IntegrityManagement

    • Develop andimplement integrity management plans for critical infrastructure(e.g., pipelines, tanks, pressurevessels).
    • Conduct inspections, assessments, andintegrity evaluations to determine the condition ofassets.
    • Analyze historical data and performrisk assessments to predict and prevent equipmentfailure.

  • Monitoringand Inspection

    • Overseeroutine inspection and testing programs (e.g., ultrasonic testing,visual inspections, corrosionmonitoring).
    • Implement and maintain conditionmonitoring systems to track asset performance in realtime.
    • Use non-destructive testing (NDT)techniques to evaluate the integrity of materials andstructures.

  • FailureAnalysis and RiskAssessment

    • Conduct rootcause analysis of failures and incidents to identify contributingfactors and preventive measures.
    • Performrisk-based inspections (RBI) and failure mode analysis (FMEA) toidentify vulnerabilities and prioritize maintenanceactivities.
    • Analyze the potential impact ofdegradation or damage on asset performance andsafety.

  • Maintenanceand RepairStrategy

    • Develop andrecommend maintenance, repair, and replacement strategies based oninspection results and analysis.
    • Ensure thetimely and efficient implementation of repairs or modifications tomaintain asset integrity.
    • Collaborate withoperations and maintenance teams to schedule and oversee requiredwork.

  • Complianceand Standards

    • Ensurethat asset integrity management practices comply with industrystandards and regulatory requirements (e.g., ASME, API,ISO).
    • Maintain accurate records of inspections,repairs, and integrity assessments to support audits andinspections.
    • Stay current on industry bestpractices and regulatory changes to ensure compliance and minimizerisk.

  • Reliabilityand PerformanceOptimization

    • Identifyopportunities to improve asset reliability and performance,minimizing downtime and increasing operationalefficiency.
    • Monitor asset life cycles andrecommend modifications to extend operationallifespans.
    • Develop strategies to addresscorrosion, wear, and other degradation factors that impact assetintegrity.
