Senior Technical Artist

As our new Senior Technical Artist at Ubisoft Abu Dhabi you will work closely with the Art and Programming teams to address technical challenges improve pipelines create tools optimize art production and maintain technical stability without compromising on visual fidelity. You will ensure seamless art integration into game engines with clearly documented and communicated workflows. Your strong artistic skills will ensure that our games will keep in line not just with the technical requirements but with the art direction as well. What youll do: Provide daily support to the Art and Tech teams Drive the implementation and integration of ingame assets Create Benchmark assets and process following and explaining the constraints on the project keeping the visual integrity in line with the artistic direction Point of contact on the art side when facing process or performance issues ingame Develop tools and scripts for Unity Maya 3ds Max Photoshop Substance Designer and other 3D/2D software as well as inhouse tools Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for technical art features and tools to support teamwide understanding and usage Qualifications : What you bring: Thorough understanding of Unity Engine High level proficiency in one or more areas of game development (Modeling & Texturing VFX Rendering Post Processing Rigging and Animation Shaders) High level proficiency in 2D and 3D software (3ds Max Maya Substance Painter/Designer ZBrush Photoshop etc.) Wellversed in nodebased graphs (Shader Graph VFX Graph Substance Designer) Extensive scripting experience (Python C# MaxScript ) Experience with Project Management tools (JIRA) Experience with Source Control tools (Git Perforce) Experience in working a range of devices from mobile to console Excellent communication skills and ability to write clear documentation Attention to detail from both technical and artistic perspectives Strong problemsolving and intuitive development skills Fast and willing learner HLSL/GLSL experience is a plus Strong 2D/Concept Art skills are a plus Understanding and experience with different art styles (Stylized SemiRealistic Pixel Art) is a plus Experience: 5 years as a Technical Artist or other related experience Shipped 3 or more Mobile PC or Console games using Unity Additional Information : Ubisoft offers the same job opportunities to all without any distinction of gender ethnicity religion sexual orientation social status disability or age.
