Primary Functions The surveyor (inspector) performs quality inspection (may be called surveys, monitoring or examination) of equipment, products, installations, etc., to determine their conformity with specified reference requirements (standards, specifications, regulation, etc.). A surveyor usually carries out some tasks independently, with minimum supervision, and these may be on well-identified, or isolated assets, or on complex installations. The surveyor may act in any field of the relevant Division. Three levels of surveyor have been identified, depending on the surveyor’s technical level, qualifications, level of initiative, responsibility and supervision. Technical Expertise Review of applicable contractual requirements (technical standards, specifications, etc.) Definition and review of Quality Plan and relevant procedures. Review and validation of inspection assignment documentation (technical aspects, reference documentation, schedule, milestones, reporting, logistics, coordination procedure, etc.) Definition of Bureau Veritas interventions Selection of the most appropriate inspection techniques Execution or supervision of inspection according to pre-defined Quality Plan, and to the established inspection procedures / techniques Execution of inspection reporting including treatment of Non-conformities (NCR’s) and other applicable deliverables Business Requirements Ensuring quality of inspection according to BV Quality System Interpretation of results of inspections Treatment of Non-conformities / corrective actions Review and appraisal of inspection procedures Maintaining internal and external communication Promotes Bureau Veritas service portfolio to clients Complete essential business information (invoicing, timesheets, etc.) Self Management Respects security guidelines of Bureau Veritas and safeguards personal security in the working environment Actively participates in the sharing of knowledge and information (Knowledge Management) Bureau Veritas Core and Business Values Results oriented Service driven Personal efficiency Impact and Influencing Rigorous Problem solving Customer Focus Maintain regular job related contact with clients.
