Job Description About the Role

We are seeking a passionate and dynamic Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in Data Science and Artificial Intelligence to join our faculty. This role involves engaging teaching, hands-on training, and impactful research in cutting-edge AI technologies, including Generative AI, Large Language Models (LLMs), Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), and Data Engineering for Big Data.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in machine learning, artificial intelligence, natural language processing (NLP), and data engineering, with at least three years of experience in teaching or industry roles. The position offers an exciting opportunity to shape the future of AI education while contributing to pioneering research and industry collaboration.

Key Responsibilities

Teaching

  • Deliver high-quality lectures and practical sessions in machine learning, generative AI, LLMs, RAG, deep learning, and big data engineering.
  • Develop and update course content to reflect AI advancements, large-scale data processing, and industry trends.
  • Design hands-on learning experiences using cloud-based AI infrastructure, model deployment, and real-world AI applications.

Content Development

  • Enhance and modernize curricula by incorporating state-of-the-art AI techniques, generative models, data engineering, and ethical AI considerations.
  • Develop interdisciplinary course modules that bridge AI, data science, and engineering applications.
  • Guide students in AI research, generative models, LLMs, and data engineering projects.
  • Encourage participation in AI competitions, hackathons, and industry research collaborations.

Research

  • Conduct and publish research in AI, LLMs, RAG, generative AI, and big data engineering.
  • Secure research funding and collaborate with academia and industry on AI and large-scale machine learning projects.

Industry and Community Engagement

  • Foster industry partnerships, organize workshops, and contribute to AI and data science communities.
  • Develop collaborations with AI-driven businesses, tech startups, and cloud service providers.
  • Work with faculty and industry partners to integrate real-world AI and big data challenges into education and research.
Requirements Essential Qualifications & Experience

Degree: PhD degree in Data Science

Experience

  • Minimum 3 years in data science, AI, machine learning, or data engineering teaching or industry roles.
  • Expertise in LLMs, Generative AI, RAG, and deep learning applications.

Technical Skills & Expertise

  • Strong proficiency in Python, R, and AI frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch, Hugging Face, OpenAI, LangChain).
  • Expertise in big data engineering, including Hadoop, Spark, Databricks, and cloud-based AI solutions (AWS, GCP, Azure).
  • Knowledge of NLP, reinforcement learning, multimodal AI, and scalable AI deployment.
  • Strong understanding of AI ethics, legal frameworks in AI, and responsible AI governance.

Desirable Certifications (Preferred but not Required)

  • TensorFlow Developer Certification

Research & Industry Collaboration (Highly Preferred)

  • Published research in AI, deep learning, or AI ethics.
  • Experience working with AI-driven companies, data science teams, or research institutions.
  • Familiarity with AI bias mitigation, fairness in machine learning, and data privacy laws (GDPR, CCPA, etc.).
  • Experience integrating cloud-based AI solutions and big data technologies into teaching and research.
  • Engagement in AI-related hackathons, competitions, and open-source contributions.
  • Ability to mentor diverse student groups and promote inclusive AI research.
