A CivilDesigner plays a crucial role in the planning anddesign of infrastructure projects such as roads, bridges, drainagesystems, and utilities. Civildesigners work closely with civil engineers, project managers, andconstruction teams to bring designs to life and ensure thefeasibility and efficiency of infrastructuresystems.

KeyResponsibilities

  1. DesignCreation andDrafting

    • Create andmodify civil engineering designs, plans, and drawings usingcomputer-aided design (CAD) software (e.g., AutoCAD, Civil 3D,MicroStation).
    • Develop site layouts, gradingplans, stormwater management systems, road alignments, and utilitysystems.
    • Produce detailed drawings forconstruction, including sections, elevations, and layoutplans.

  2. Collaborationwith Engineers and ProjectTeams

    • Work closely withcivil engineers, surveyors, and other design professionals toensure accurate and coordinateddesigns.
    • Participate in design reviews andprovide input on technical details.
    • Ensure thatdesigns align with client requirements, local codes, and safetystandards.

  3. SitePlanning andAnalysis

    • Assist in theevaluation of site conditions, including topography, soilcomposition, and environmental factors.
    • Analyzesite data to inform decisions on grading, drainage, and utilityplacement.
    • Help develop solutions forsite-specific challenges such as flooding, erosion, or soilinstability.

  4. Compliancewith Regulations

    • Ensurethat designs comply with local zoning laws, building codes,environmental regulations, and other relevantstandards.
    • Assist in preparing documentationfor permits, environmental impact assessments, and regulatoryreviews.

  5. DesignOptimization

    • Proposeimprovements to optimize design efficiency, reduce costs, andenhance sustainability.
    • Incorporateeco-friendly design principles, such as stormwater management andenergy-efficient systems, wherepossible.
    • Evaluate and recommend alternativematerials or methods to improve projectoutcomes.
Desired candidate profile

We are currently looking for Civil Designer to be based inAbu Dhabi location.

Main PurposeOf Role

Core Designer Role toproduce the volume of Design Drawings on projects and within thebusiness asrequired.

Qualifications

EngineeringDiploma(Preferable)

Essential

Knowledge/ Experience (Skills):

  • 7 - 12 years of Oil & GasDesign Experience.

Advantage

Previousexperience in Region

TechnicalKnowledge And Skills (DisciplineSpecific)

  • Knowledge of basic engineeringprocesses
  • Familiarity with international codes,standards and engineering practices
  • Thoroughknowledge of onshore design engineering for the oil, gas and waterfield.
  • Knowledge of 2D CADapplications
  • Knowledge of ESD is an addedadvantage
  • Familiarity with CTB &different client protocols
  • Detailing ofreinforcement and connectiondetailing
