RoleSummary
We are seeking experiencedBrokers to join our Dry Cargo teams. You will be responsible fornegotiating and fixing spot cargoes on various routes andallocating contract cargoes to assigned ships to maximise thevessels financial results within the prevailing market conditions.The ideal candidate should have a successful Broking backgroundwithin Dry Cargo be driven and focused and a strong relationshipbuilder. Experience of handymax is preferred (supramax and/orpanamax is alsodesirable).
Whatyoull be doing
Drive revenue anddevelop client base.
Market tonnage tocustomers/shippers/charterers.
Negotiatespot/time charters to achieve maximum income for theowners.
Be aware of the positions and desiredstrategic directions for each ship assigned.
Coordinate the allocation of spot and contract cargo to the shipassigned to the specific service.
Set up andnegotiate deals including presenting the business to potentialclients negotiating the main terms of a contract or sale and seeingit through to its conclusion and the completion of any follow upthat may be involved.
Coordinate with charteringand operation departments to maximise space utiliisation minimisethe number of port and berth calls and maximise the voyagefinancial results.
Coordinate all aspects oftransshipments for respective cargoes.
Coordinate contracts of affreightment with customers to receivenominations on time and build programs which fit vesselschedules.
Maintain current voyage records anddocumentation to customers for tonnage loading within theservice.
Maintain a thorough knowledge of allrelevant charter party forms and company standard terms. Checkthrough charter parties.
Understand the businessstrategy for the division and seek to identify new businessopportunities relating to trends future markets products andclients.
Identify and introduce new clients tothe market and maintain professionalrelationships.
Perform market analysis andprovide market insight and trade ideas toclients.
Maintain an uptodate knowledge of theDry Cargo market space.
Travel and attendingclient social events where required.
Additional/ ad hoc duties as required to meet the needs of thebusiness.

Key Skills& Experience
Successful trackrecord of shipbroking within Dry Cargo (with ideally 24 yearsexperience).
Experience of handymax supramaxand/or panamax.
Effective communication skills(both verbal and written).
Personable andengaging able to build strong relationships.
Driven selfmotivated and client focused.
Strongcommercial judgement with excellent negotiationskills.
Strong numeracy skills and excellentpresentation skills.
High focus on accuracy andattention to detail.
Confident and able to workwell under pressure.
Good MS officeskills.
