Senior Civil/Structural Designer

Senior Civil/Structural Designer Wood is currently looking for a Senior Civil/Structural Designer to join our team in Sharjah, UAE. Our Clients and Projects Wood has been awarded a general engineering contract to support an International Client operator to deliver a portfolio of onshore capital projects by provision of engineering and project management services (including EPC contract management), as well as Supply Chain, Construction and Commissioning support from Wood Iraq and UAE offices. Projects include both Greenfield and Brownfield modification projects and integrating low‑carbon solutions to support our client’s energy transition and emissions reduction goals. Responsibilities Design & detail Civil & Structural works for Oil and Gas projects. Prepare drawings for EPC and FEED projects (Concrete, Structural steel, Underground drainage). Modeling in SP3D; experience with Navisworks, SPR, E3D, PDS, PDMS is required. Ensure compliance with American codes and standards. Prepare MTO through Excel spreadsheet (plus). Assess effectiveness of working practices and systems for continuous improvement. Carry out work in accordance with Wood and project Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality Systems. Maintain technical quality of work and keep up to date with technical developments. Identify scope and schedule changes in accordance with the Change Control Process. Maintain planning for all work scopes and ensure on‑time delivery. Provide technical assistance to discipline‑assigned personnel as required. Review, prepare and check work output of assigned personnel. Prepare estimates and assist in their review. Maintain good communication with the team and client. Maintain discipline filing system and encourage lateral learning within the project. Qualifications Minimum Diploma Engineering in Civil / Structural or ITI. Minimum 10 years post‑graduate experience. Minimum 6 years’ experience in the oil and gas industry. Minimum 4 years’ experience in a senior design designation. Modeling experience in SP3D is a must.
