JobOverview

The ElectromechanicalEngineering Manager will be responsible for overseeing and managingall electrical and mechanical engineering activities of thecontractor on the rail project. This role involves validating thedesign provided by the construction contractor ensuring compliancewith electrical and mechanical standards and providing supportduring the construction supervision phase. He will work closelywith various departments to ensure the successful execution of theproject particularly focusing on the integration of electrical andmechanical systems within the railinfrastructure.

RolesandResponsibilities:

  • Validatethe electrical and mechanical design provided by the D&Bcontractor ensuring compliance with project requirements andindustry standards.
  • Oversee the installationtesting and commissioning of electrical and mechanical systemsincluding power supply lighting HVAC fire protection andplumbing.
  • Conduct site assessments and surveysto gather data on existing electrical and mechanical conditions andidentify opportunities forimprovement.
  • Identify and mitigate electricaland mechanical risks providing advice on potential opportunitiesand threats.
  • Provide regular progress reportsto the client and internal stakeholders highlighting any electricaland mechanical risks and opportunities.
  • Ensurethe provision of all necessary electrical and mechanical data tothe Contract Administration SeniorManager.
  • Provide technical support during theconstruction supervision phase addressing any electrical andmechanical issues that arise.
  • Work closely withthe required departments to ensure compliance with any legalfinancial and corporate protocols.
  • Prepare anddeliver electrical and mechanical presentations asrequired.
  • Drive progression via coordinationmeetings ensuring all electrical and mechanical obligations aremet.
  • Review and approve electrical andmechanical reports drawings and specifications submitted by theD&B contractor.
  • Monitor and evaluatethe performance of electrical and mechanical works duringconstruction ensuring adherence to design specifications andquality standards.
  • Liaise with externalconsultants contractors and regulatory authorities to ensurecompliance with electrical and mechanicalrequirements.
  • Conduct site visits andinspections to assess electrical and mechanical conditions andverify the implementation ofrecommendations.
  • Provide training and guidanceto junior engineers and project team members on electrical andmechanicalmatters.

Qualificationsand EducationalRequirements:

  • Bachelorsdegree in Electrical Engineering Mechanical Engineering or arelated field. A Masters degree ispreferred.
  • Professional certifications such asProfessional Engineer (PE) or equivalent are highlydesirable.

Knowledgeand Experience:

  • Minimumof 12 15 years of experience in electrical and mechanicalengineering preferably in largescale infrastructure ortransportation projects.
  • Indepth knowledge ofelectrical and mechanical principles construction contracts andindustry standards.
  • Strong analyticalcommunication and interpersonal skills. Ability to manage multipleelectrical and mechanical aspects and stakeholderseffectively.
  • Experience working on Railprojects/sector is highlydesirable.

PreferredSkills:

  • Stronganalytical and problemsolving skills with the ability to identifyand mitigate electrical and mechanical risks specific to largescaleinfrastructure projects.
  • High level ofattention to detail ensuring accuracy in electrical and mechanicalassessments and validations.
  • Proven leadershipskills with the ability to lead and motivate a team in ahighpressure environment.
  • Experience inmanaging complex projects with the ability to meet tight deadlinesand handle multiple taskssimultaneously.
  • Excellent communication skillswith the ability to present complex electrical and mechanicalinformation clearly and concisely to stakeholders at alllevels.
  • Proficiency in electrical andmechanical engineering software and tools as well as a strongunderstanding of engineering and constructionprocesses.
