Job Description

Job Purpose:

Provision of complex cross-asset class active Investment Advisory (IA) services directly to select clients of the Private Banking and Key Client Group segments. This includes, but is not limited to:

  1. Working on a day-to-day basis directly with clients to advise them on the management of their investment portfolios in line with their stated goals and investment objectives.
  2. Generation of investment ideas tailored to market trends, customer profile and FAB investment views, and delivery of those ideas to clients in a suitable and appropriate manner.
  3. Robust and detailed portfolio management, execution and follow-up of IA mandates, in adherence with the Bank's policies & procedures.
  4. Performance of day-to-day risk management/monitoring of IA mandates.
  5. Partnering with Relationship Managers in the acquisition and retention of new IA mandates, which includes pitching IA services directly to select clients of the Private Banking and Key Clients Group.
  6. Daily interaction with clients on their portfolio and the resolution of client-related issues in the management of the client's investment assets.
  7. Taking a holistic view of the overall investment relationship across Advisory, Discretionary and Execution only portfolios.
  8. Participating in publishing/maintaining Focus Lists on equities, fixed income and managed investments.
  9. Management of IA Mandates, ensuring that portfolios are tailored to client's risk profiles and objectives.
  10. Ensuring that relevant processes are followed when marketing investment solutions and that each relevant policy is respected.
  11. Proper processing of client's instructions from idea sharing to booking a trade.
  12. Actively managing risk/investments' performance and suggesting required changes in portfolio structure to clients.
  13. Suggesting portfolio rebalancing as appropriate.
  14. Maintenance of up-to-date records of Investment proposals and portfolio reviews.
  15. Implementing portfolio strategies by choosing the appropriate investment products among the list of selected securities (Focus List).
  16. Maximizing the performance of portfolios in adherence with the client's investment objectives and profile.
  17. Proactively partnering with Relationship Managers in Business Development activities by preparing and delivering client pitches, providing portfolio advice at client meetings and resolving client investment-related issues.
  18. Actively promoting investment opportunities across the full spectrum of asset classes in line with FAB investment views and Tactical Allocation whilst monitoring the investments of advisory clients.
Qualifications
  1. Excellent knowledge of the financial markets and financial tools.
  2. Deep understanding of the global economy and capital markets, equity and fixed income analysis, asset allocation, portfolio construction and risk management for client portfolios, and solid analytic and communication skills.
  3. Solid understanding of investments business, asset classes, fund structures and investment processes.
  4. Knowledge of and experience in products sourcing, and management in the investment industry.
  5. Experience in various asset classes.
  6. Team player with a positive attitude.
  7. Ability to work to tight deadlines.
  8. Excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
  9. Academic requirement: Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance and or Master's Degree or an industry qualification.
  10. SCA Certified.
  11. CPA/CFA or equivalent will be an advantage.
  12. Job Experience needed: At least 7+ years of experience in a similar environment.
