The Resident Engineer isresponsible for the activities and efficiency of his staff for thesatisfactory prosecution of the work under his supervision. He hasthe responsibility to build and maintain an organization that caneffectively provide the necessary staking testing and inspection toensure the project is constructed according to the plans andspecifications. The Resident Engineer should familiarize himselfrapidly with the plans specifications and amendments to effectivelyadminister the work. Resident Engineer reports to the SeniorResidentEngineer.
Description
- Ensurethe Contractors compliance with the ContractDocuments.
- Inspect all workmanship andmaterial.
- Coordinate the supply of vertical andhorizontal controls for the Contractor.
- Makelayout checks on lines and grades.
- Coordinationwith other Contractors.
- Maintain all filerecords on designated forms. These records include all reports onwork force equipment progress safetyetc.
- Review and approve the Contractors shopdrawings.
- Locate execute and interpret allsoils and materials testing according to the provisions in theContract Documents and StandardSpecifications.
- Resident Engineer isresponsible for the Contract and is not to relieve the Contractorof his responsibilities without Clientsauthorization.
- Resident Engineer is responsiblefor the final materials submittals and review which shall beforwarded to the Department with recommendations for finalapproval.
- Check and certify progress paymentsto the Contractor.
- Check personnel equipmentand material costs for all Variation Orders and Change Ordersrequired under the terms of theContract.
- Review requests for additionalcompensation and time extensions.
- PrepareChange Orders for all Additional and Newworks.
- Preparation of the MonthlyReport.
- Site Safety Monitoring wherein themonitoring activities meetings reviews safety violationsrectification measures and accident reports are included in theMonthly Progress Report.
- When necessarydetermine proper costs of additions or credits due to the Clientand recommend appropriate action.
- Inspectsafety conditions and inform the Contractor of construction safetyviolations and follow up action to betaken.
- Attend all meetings and prepare writtenminutes for distribution.
- Review correspondenceand prepare responses for signature.
- Reviewupdate monitor and report on the Contractors work schedulesCPMchart and Cash Flow Status.
- Monitor andreport on progress of scheduled utility relocationwork.
- Provide all photographs before during andafter construction necessary to provide adequate documentation ofchanges in site and adjacent structures.
- Reviewand approve the Contractors plans for protection of existingbuildings and structures.
- Review allconstruction activities regarding compliance with local trafficordinances and public convenience.
- Receive andreview complaints and claims of damage and expedite the Contractorsinvestigation into these complaints and damageclaims.
- Approve all restoration or finalcleanup work.
- Review and make recommendationson Contractors claims.
- Coordination with otherContractors Departments and Agencies.
- Provide apunch list and final inspection.
- Check andapprove asbuilt drawings submitted by the Contractor and maintain astatus log.
- Check and approve the finalquantities submitted by the Contractor.
- Checkand approve the final payment certificate submitted by theContractor.
- Be accountable for the quality ofsite construction of Infrastructure work
- Leadthe site supervision team on the infrastructureproject.
- Lead all site issues attendingMeetings prepare MOM prepare all reports required forclient
- Reviewing and approving of technicalsubmissions by Contractors.
- Verifying work doneand payment
- Involvement in contractrelatedmatters on the project. Attendance in meetings discussions withclients contractors and to lead in technical and progressdiscussions.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 15years of experience in infrastructureProject.
- Bachelors or equivalent degree inCivilEngineering.
