Roles and responsibilities

Overview of therole:

  • Theprimary focus of the role will be to carry out dealership serviceon customer vehicles as per company standards and ensure optimumquality with increased productivity and technical efficiency,thereby individually contributing to generate workshoprevenue.

What you willdo:

  • Performperiodic maintenance service on the customer'svehicle
  • Address minor repair jobs oncustomer's vehicle without compensating the quality ofwork
  • Accurately complete all job cardsprovided
  • Provide cost estimates to customersthat requires or request for additional servicejobs
  • Conduct final inspection as per the SOP(standard operating procedure)
  • Deliver thedesired efficiency and productivity as per targetsgiven
  • Ensure prompt punch in and punch out toget the accurate booking hours
  • Complete thetraining course/internal assessment and other on the job trainingas per the schedule provided by the TrainingManager
  • Enroll and get certification as per theprincipal's guidelines
  • Prepare forannual skills contests

About theTeam:

  • Reporting to the Workshop Supervisorand will work closely with the workshop team.

What equips you forthe role:

  • ITI/ Diploma in AutomobileEngineering
  • 1 to 2 years overall experience asa Technician with an automotivedealership
  • Technicalskills

  • Proficient English

. TechnicalKnowledge:

  • MechanicalSystems : In-depth understanding of mechanicalcomponents, systems, and how they interact. This includes engines,motors, hydraulic systems, pneumatic systems, pumps, compressors,and other mechanicalequipment.
  • Blueprints andSchematics : Ability to read and interpret technicaldrawings, blueprints, and schematics to understand how systems aredesigned and how they shouldoperate.
  • MechanicalRepair : Expertise in diagnosing, repairing, andmaintaining mechanical equipment to ensure it runs at peakperformance.
  • PreventiveMaintenance : Knowledge of and ability to performscheduled maintenance activities, such as lubrication, componentreplacement, and system adjustments, to prevent equipmentfailure.

2.Problem-Solving andTroubleshooting:

  • DiagnosticSkills : Identifying problems in mechanical systems,from simple faults to more complex issues, using tools likediagnostic equipment andsensors.
  • Root CauseAnalysis : Finding the underlying causes ofmechanical failures, rather than just addressing symptoms, toprevent futureissues.
  • Troubleshooting :Ability to troubleshoot various types of machinery and equipmentefficiently and effectively, minimizingdowntime.

3. Precisionand Attention toDetail:

  • Accuracy :Ensuring that repairs and maintenance work are performedaccurately, following specifications, and ensuring properfunctioning.
  • Inspection :Regularly inspecting machines and systems to detect issues earlyand prevent significant mechanicalfailures.
  • Measurements :Using precision tools like calipers, micrometers, and gauges tomeasure components accurately during repairs andmaintenance.

4.TechnicalProficiency:

  • Handand Power Tools : Proficient in using various handtools, power tools, and machinery, such as wrenches, drills,grinders, and weldingequipment.
  • DiagnosticTools : Familiarity with diagnostic tools such asvoltmeters, pressure gauges, and thermometers to measure parametersand diagnose faults.
  • SoftwareKnowledge : Some mechanical technicians work withComputerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) for trackingmaintenance activities, inventory management, andscheduling.
