About the Role
In this role you will be responsible for the financial operations of the head office based in Dubai and our branch office in Abu Dhabi ensuring accuracy and integrity of the financial data.
The accountant's responsibilities will include:

  1. Bookkeeping, data entry of all day to day accounting transactions.
  2. Management of accounts payable and receivable.
  3. Manage all monetary transactions.
  4. Reconciliation of balance sheet codes including bank, credit cards, receipts from on-line payments etc.
  5. Reconciliation of income and receipts between our CRM and the accounting software (Currently Quick Books), analysing the variances and reporting both to the Principal and the Office manager to quickly resolve any errors.
  6. Preparation and submission of VAT returns.
  7. Preparation and computation of Corporation Tax.
  8. Analysis of financial data to present to the Management, including but not limited to cash flow, income and expense variances, and financial statements.
  9. Preparation of termly and year end accounts both Management Accounts and Financial Statements compliant with accounting standards.
  10. Develop and improve, in liaison with the Principal and Office Manager, internal accounting procedures.
  11. Implementation of new accounting software.
  12. Negotiate with our PRO for visa processing, knowledge of UAE employment law.
  13. Negotiate and renew insurance policies, including health insurance.

Skills Required
  1. Proficiency in accounting software, Quick Books and Zoho books would be an advantage.
  2. Advanced Excel skills.
  3. Knowledge of UAE tax laws and regulations.
  4. Familiarity with financial reporting standards.
  5. Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  6. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  7. Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure.
  8. Effective written and communication skills.
  9. Team player.
  10. Adaptability.
  11. Knowledge of CRM software would be an advantage.
  12. An accounting qualification from a recognised accounting body.
  13. Experience gained over a number of years in a busy SME environment.
