Job Description
Novotel Wollongong Northbeach is looking for a Receptionist .
General Purpose: The Receptionist is responsible for providing a superior experience to guests, including knowing all property services and amenities, welcoming guests, checking guests in and out, and coordinating guest experiences prior to arrival.
Specific Responsibilities:
- Responds professionally and courteously to guests, providing accurate and timely information and services.
- Greets and completes check-in procedures for arriving guests.
- Facilitates guest departure by following established procedures.
- Calculates and posts charges, maintaining accurate hotel records.
- Answers inquiries and accepts reservations, using suggestive selling techniques.
- Maintains good customer relations by staying informed about in-house and area functions.
- Handles incoming calls and assists with scheduling and wake-up calls.
- Controls cash transactions and maintains personal bank as specified by hotel policy.
- Processes guest mail, messages, and faxes efficiently.
- Stays updated on gift shop merchandise and processes sales.
- Relays information to guests regarding exhibitions.
- Contributes to department communications and operations.
- Assists other employees and departments to enhance overall performance.
- Performs other duties as assigned by management.
- Knows standard cash handling procedures and computerized cash register systems.
- Must be fluent in English and able to communicate effectively.
- Must be organized and detail-oriented.
Qualifications:
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Experience in customer service and handling public interactions.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and communicate effectively.
- Must pass a background check.
