As an IT Technician, you will reportto the IT Manager at your home site and will be responsible forworking closely with the business, your colleagues and remotesupport teams to implement and maintain infrastructure elements.You will represent the 'face of IT' to theBusiness and you will thrive in providing world-class service toour customers.

Business Area: Operations– Fulfilment Centre andLogistics

The IT Operation team supports theIT Infrastructure at each of the Amazon sites and provides ITsupport to our customer base.

What We Are LookingFor

Putting the customersfirst, you will provide a 1st support service that ensures all ITequipment and infrastructure is running to its optimum performanceand that all departmental Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) andService Level Agreements (SLAs) are met on your home site as wellas any remote sites that you and your team alsosupport.

Key jobresponsibilities

The extent of yourresponsibilities will include but not be limited to:

  • Health & Safety: ownershipand accountability, ensuring that work is carried out to a highstandard and complies with all Amazon polices andguidelines.
  • Installation, maintenance andsupport of IT equipment
  • Asset and Inventorymanagement.
  • Liase with 3rd party vendors andsuppliers to ensure efficient assetmanagement.
  • Liaise with contractors or externalsuppliers and clearly communicate technical issues and Amazonstandards.
  • Maximizing the availability of allIT equipment and infrastructure through continuous improvement andproactive, preventative maintenance.
  • Providingtechnical support/input to site and team projects andinitiatives.
  • Conducting end user equipmenttrials and testing.
  • Providing assistance tosenior engineers as required
  • Working in shifts(including weekends) and supporting occasional changes in workinghours.

BasicQualifications

  • CompTIA A+, CompTIA Network+,Cisco/CCNA, Linux (Redhat), Microsoft hardware (installation), AWS,or other industry relevant certifications

PreferredQualifications

  • Experience troubleshooting integratedand interdependent computer systems
Desired candidate profile

1. TechnicalProficiency

  • Strongunderstanding of hardware andsoftware components, includingdesktops, laptops, servers, printers, and networkingdevices.
  • Proficiency in operating systems suchas Windows , MacOS , andLinux .
  • Familiaritywith troubleshooting network issues (e.g., IP address conflicts,VPN, DNS, DHCP) and wirelessconnectivity.

2.Problem-Solving andTroubleshooting

  • Abilityto diagnose and resolve technical problems quickly andefficiently.
  • Strong analytical skills to assessissues and determine appropriatesolutions.
  • Experience in troubleshootingsoftware issues, operating system problems, and peripheral hardwaremalfunctions.

3.NetworkingKnowledge

  • Basicunderstanding of networking concepts such as TCP/IP, routers,firewalls, switches, and VPNs.
  • Experience withconfiguring and maintaining network infrastructure, includingsetting up Wi-Fi and networkdevices.

4. CustomerService

  • Excellentcommunication skills to interact with end-users and understandtheir technical issues.
  • Ability to explaintechnical concepts in a way that non-technical users canunderstand.
  • Patience and empathy to providesupport in a customer-friendlymanner.

5. Software andApplicationSupport

  • Proficiency incommon business applications such as Microsoft OfficeSuite , GoogleWorkspace , and enterprisesoftware.
  • Ability to install, configure, andtroubleshoot software applications and operatingsystems.

6. TimeManagement andMultitasking

  • Ability toprioritize tasks effectively to address urgent issues whilemaintaining quality support for otherrequests.
  • Efficient at handling multiplerequests simultaneously, especially during high-demandperiods.

7. SecurityAwareness

  • Knowledge ofbasic cybersecurity practices, including firewalls, antivirussoftware, and encryption protocols.
  • Ability toassist with setting up user permissions and managing securityprotocols on systems and networks.

8.Documentation andReporting

  • Ability todocument technical issues, solutions, and support requests in aclear and organized manner.
  • Familiarity withticketing systems (e.g., Zendesk ,ServiceNow ) for logging support issuesand tracking resolutions.

9.HardwareMaintenance

  • Skills ininstalling, configuring, and troubleshooting hardware componentslike hard drives, RAM, printers, and peripheraldevices.
  • Knowledge of hardware maintenance,repair, and upgrades to ensure optimalperformance.

10. BackupandRecovery

  • Understandingof backup systems, data recovery processes, and disaster recoveryplanning.
  • Ability to perform routine backupsand help users recover lost data or restoresystems.
