Job Summary:

The Head of Planning and control oversees the planning, scheduling, and control functions of all projects within the EPC Division. S/He will also provide strong leadership, strategic planning, and technical expertise to Lead, manage, and oversee all the Planning & Cost Control activities within the Division.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Planning and Scheduling : Develop, monitor, and update the resource-loaded schedules and progress of works in cooperation with other departments and report the status
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify and share lessons learned to support continuous improvement of project performance and company operations
  • Budget Management : Oversee project budgets, ensuring cost control and financial performance. Monitor cost performance, update cost control tools, and prepare budget forecasts. Establish and manage the invoicing procedure and supervise its proper implementation
  • Contracts Management: Prepare the contractually required reports as well as the Company's internal project controls reports. Manage the contract scope including claims and variations
  • Risk Management : Identify potential project risks and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Resource Allocation : Coordinate with department heads to allocate resources effectively across projects.
  • Performance Monitoring : Track project progress and performance, implementing corrective actions as needed.
  • Stakeholder Management : Maintain regular communication with stakeholders, providing updates on project status and addressing any issues. Build and actively maintain positive customer relationships with the client develop and maintain detailed project schedules, including resource allocation, timelines, and milestones.
  • Quality Control : Ensure that all projects meet the required quality standards and comply with industry regulations.
  • Project Monitoring & Control: Follow and implement the established Project control processes as well as the Company's policies and procedures
  • Team Leadership : Lead and mentor the planning and control team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.

Technical Competencies:

  1. Project Management : Proficiency in project management methodologies and tools (e.g., Primavera, MS Project).
  2. Cost Control : Expertise in budgeting, cost estimation, and financial analysis.
  3. Scheduling : Advanced skills in creating and managing project schedules.
  4. Risk Analysis : Ability to conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation plans.
  5. Resource Management : Knowledge of resource allocation and optimization techniques.
  6. Quality Assurance : Understanding of quality control processes and standards.
  7. Data Analysis : Strong analytical skills to interpret project data and generate reports.
  8. Technical Knowledge : In-depth understanding of engineering, procurement, and construction processes.
  9. Communication : Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  10. Leadership : Proven ability to lead and manage a team effectively.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Project Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 15-20 years of experience in project planning and control within the EPC Contracting Business in the Oil & Gas and petrochemical sector.
  • PMP or similar project management certification is preferred.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
