Senior Specialist - Scheduling & Transportation Information Join to apply for the Senior Specialist - Scheduling & Transportation Information role at Dubai Careers - A Smart Dubai Initiative Responsibilities Analyze data of bus running time and other circumstances affecting the operation of public transport vehicles; determine bus running time by time of day and day type. Innovative problem‑solving: provide workable solutions and resolve complaints. Develop and export system technical requirements for the operation of the public transport network to the technical systems in other departments (Journey Planner, Automated Collection System (AFC) and Automated Vehicle Management (AVM)). Update and develop scheduling system and associated technologies; update the system to include bus schedules. Apply highly analytical thinking to improve and streamline complex work processes, scheduling guidelines and procedures. Coordinate with managers, staff and representatives regarding scheduling information and system improvements. Coordinate with scheduling system vendor for any performance issues. Ensure system availability to schedulers at the appropriate security level. Coordinate with OCC and bus operation; analyse operated trips vs scheduled trips and study service enhancement and implementation. Review existing and proposed schedules to improve service and equalise driver work hours. Ensure concerned departments receive notification of service changes (buses, maintenance, transportation systems, customer service). Evaluate service reliability on the existing network through field surveys and data from OCC. Develop schedules that reflect the strategic objectives of the Public Transport Agency and integrate with other transit modes. Handle any additional responsibilities as advised by the direct line manager or head of department. Maintain comprehensive, up‑to‑date information on all bus services, routes, timetables, fares and conditions of carriage. Develop quality bus schedules, reporting formats and complete tasks on time. Qualifications Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering or Business Administration from a recognized university with 8 years of experience in public transport bus scheduling. Master’s degree preferred. Skills: Highly analytical thinking with talent for identifying, scrutinising, improving and streamlining complex work processes. Computer‑literate performer with extensive software proficiency across a wide variety of applications. Exceptional listener and communicator who conveys information verbally and in writing; resourceful team player who builds trusting relationships with customers and colleagues. Flexible team player who prioritises and juggle multiple concurrent projects. Innovative problem‑solver who generates workable solutions and resolves complaints. Goal‑driven leader who maintains a productive climate and motivates and coaches employees to meet high performance standards. Results‑driven achiever with exemplary planning and organisational skills and a high degree of detail orientation.
