About the Role

The successful candidate will design and implement large-scale data platforms on both on-prem and cloud platforms, ensuring they are highly available, secure, resilient, and complex.

You will work with cloud and big data platforms like Azure and Cloudera, and have hands-on experience with Azure PaaS services such as Event Hub, Azure Functions, ADF, Databricks, Synapse, Cosmos DB, and Azure Storage (ADLS Gen2).

A good understanding of modern development methodologies, tools, and practices, such as DevOps, GitOps, Docker, and Kubernetes services is also required.

  1. Design and Implement Large-Scale Data Platforms: Design and implement large-scale data platforms on both on-prem and cloud platforms, ensuring they are highly available, secure, resilient, and complex.
  2. Develop Platform Engineering Strategies: Develop and execute platform engineering strategies aligned with business objectives, developing and implementing frameworks for scalable platform delivery adhering to best practices.
  3. Work with Agile Teams: Collaborate within agile teams to decompose platform requirements into actionable tasks, collaborate with architects and technical leadership on roadmap evaluation and adoption of emerging tools/technologies.
  4. Provide Technical Leadership: Lead a team of platform engineers, providing technical guidance and mentorship, conducting peer reviews and providing constructive feedback to ensure code quality and alignment with platform standards.
  5. Take Responsibility for Platform Technical Aspects: Take end-to-end ownership of the platform's technical aspects, ensuring quality, scalability, and reliability, recommending and implementing technical improvements, including design, testing, performance optimization, and adoption of new methodologies.
  6. Optimize Azure Resources: Conduct cost optimization for Azure resources, ensuring budget alignment without compromising performance, ensuring platform documentation is regularly updated, accessible, and aligned with best practices.
  7. Drive Continuous Improvement: Drive technical excellence by promoting continuous learning and development, actively participating in the Platform Engineering Chapter to drive modernization and maturity in platform capabilities.
