- Manage and support a team of HLTAs/Job Coaches to provide training, guidance, and ongoing support to ensure they are effectively deployed to assist students with SEN
- Oversee students' work experience placements, ensuring opportunities are meaningful and aligned with students' future goals
- Support students in developing key life and employability skills, promoting independence and preparing them for work placements and employment
- Develop and implement individual learning plans (ILPs) for each student, ensuring their specific needs are met through differentiated teaching strategies and personalised support
- Use alternative communication tools to support students with communication difficulties, ensuring these tools are integrated effectively into lessons to enhance student engagement and participation
- Provide sensory support to students with sensory processing difficulties, adapting the learning environment to meet these requirements
- Collaborate with external stakeholders to secure relevant work experience placements and upskill them on supporting young adults with special needs in the workplace
- Teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE, QTS) or equivalent with specialisation in Special Educational Needs
- Proven experience teaching BTEC Level 1 qualifications, particularly in vocational subjects
- Experience working with young adults with special educational needs, including supporting sensory needs and communication difficulties
- Demonstrated experience in leading and managing a team of HLTAs or Job Coaches
- Experience securing and managing work experience placements for students with SEN
- Strong knowledge of SEN teaching methods and strategies
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
