Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled RD Engineer to join our team at the Technology Innovation Institute. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, building, and testing optical, electrical, or mechanical systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • System Design and Development: Design and develop complex systems, including optical, electrical, and mechanical components.
  • Integration and Testing: Integrate systems with control devices and ensure holistic operation of the system.
  • Technical Documentation: Develop technical documentation independently and in collaboration with others.
  • Technical Specifications: Participate in the preparation of technical specifications for the development of functional modules and devices.
  • Requirements Analysis: Analyze and develop technical requirements based on project objectives and specifications.
  • Certification and Field Testing: Participate in certification testing and field testing.
Requirements
  • Experience: At least 3 years of hands-on experience in either optical, electrical, or mechanical system development.
  • Software Skills: Knowledge in the use of specialized software for either optical (e.g. Zemax), or electrical (analog/digital or FPGAs), or mechanical systems (e.g. Autodesk Fusion 360).
  • CAD Design: Design experience with CAD software.
  • Teamwork: Ability to work as part of a project team, with a willingness to take responsibility for deliverables and dive into related areas as required.
  • Programming Skills: Would be an advantage: Programming skills in Python, or similar language.
