Job Description
The Instrumentation Engineer will play a crucial role in leading the discipline to execute projects and support bids in Abu Dhabi, UAE. The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Attending meetings with clients and construction contractors to monitor project progress;
- Evaluating technical bids and approving relevant I&C project items;
- Reviewing vendor drawings and approving them in line with ADNOC AGES;
- Responding to queries from instrument engineers and contractors to mitigate issues;
- Supporting the team by providing engineering deliverables for construction contractors;
- Participating in pre-commissioning and commissioning activities for systems and packages;
- Preparing and reviewing instrumentation documentation, including method statements and risk mitigation procedures;
- Monitoring quality and performance (QA/QC) of works carried out by contractors/subcontractors;
- Participating in site progress meetings with construction contractors and clients to review progress and performance;
- Supporting the lead project engineer in coordinating with stakeholders regarding installation and modification works;
- Expediting resolution of contractor technical queries and providing guidance.
Main Accountabilities
The Instrumentation Engineer will be responsible for:
- Supervising the timely and effective execution of I&C installation/modification work within project scopes at brown field gas facilities;
- Planning and coordinating activities and resources at the construction site to ensure effective coordination and supervision of construction/modification project works related to onshore and offshore transformers, Deluge skid, fire and gas system, Integration of FGS system with existing Honeywell DCS (OEM) in gas facilities;
- Undertaking initiatives to estimate man hour requirements, plan work schedules, assign and direct subordinates, and attend work sites during assigned tasks in improvement initiatives associated with facilities and systems;
- Interfacing and coordinating closely with main/primary contractors and subcontractors' teams to monitor effective progress of construction site activities related to Instrumentation and control work;
- Allocating work to team members; conducting safety talks prior to tasks to support successful completion of activities in accord with safety standards;
- Reviewing lists of Instrumentation & control problems and problem areas affecting construction schedules or path with other discipline Engineers to take actions to resolve these problems;
- Resolving any such related problems by attending, participating, and/or delegating work to available technicians to expedite resolutions.
