Key Responsibilities- Contribute to the development of innovative drill bit design solutions that meet customer needs and exceed expectations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure timely delivery of design tasks and within budget.
- Prepare detailed cost estimates and ensure that all necessary design tasks are completed within the required timescales.
- Develop and lead test programs and factory acceptance tests to validate designs.
- Identify solutions to design problems in assigned projects and implement Engineering Change procedures to minimize disruption to the business.
- Ensure all assigned deliverables are technically in accordance with client requirements and established contract requirements.
- Chair client meetings and monitor individuals' performance to ensure customer care is at the forefront.
- Remain aware and involved in the latest developments within the industry and the greater engineering world to identify potential concepts that could be incorporated into new designs.
- Travel as required to support the business and carry out any other reasonable duties when requested by a line manager.
- HND Engineering or equivalent.
- Working knowledge of leading design projects within multi-disciplinary teams.
- Working knowledge within a manufacturing environment and within the Energy Industry, specifically within drill bits.
- Relevant experience within Oil and Gas.
- Computer literacy (including a good command of Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook).
- Product Line Specific Orientation - Ability to describe specific tool applications and how the internals of the tool function.
- Knowledge Management - Ability to navigate in the portal and perform simple searches.
- IP Series Training – Understanding of what intellectual property is.
- CAD - Ability to create/manipulate simple models/parts/assemblies.
- FEA - Ability to run simple analyses.
- CFD - Ability to run simple analyses.
- PLM - Ability to create parts using the right process workflows, track workflows progress, perform simple searches.
- EMS – Ability to make use of creating a favorite list, providing updates, uploading documents.
- B.S. in Engineering/Scientific discipline or equivalent.
