Job Overview

The National Petroleum Construction Company Limited is seeking a highly skilled Offshore Anchor Specialist to join our team. In this critical role, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our barges in offshore environments.

About the Role

  • Maintain a complete log of all marine activities performed by the barge, including anchor positioning and movement coordination.
  • Conduct regular visual inspections of the barge surroundings to identify potential hazards and ensure a safe working environment.
  • Collaborate with other crew members to develop and implement effective anchor handling strategies.
  • Monitor and report on the barge's position and mooring system, providing critical feedback to the anchor foreman.
  • Direct the vessel to its designated anchor position using information from anchor patterns, field charts, GPS, and other data sources.
  • Assist in plotting anchor positions in accordance with approved anchor patterns or develop new plans when necessary.

Skills and Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; 3 years' experience as an Anchor Operator preferred.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced offshore environment.
  • Strong knowledge of offshore safety protocols and procedures.
  • Familiarity with GPS technology and anchor positioning systems.
