Role and Responsibilities
  • Oversee the contractual aspects of projects and programs, ensuring seamless execution and compliance.
  • Participate in progress meetings, record minutes, and prepare reports to facilitate effective communication and decision-making.
  • Provide expert support on financial and contractual matters, offering guidance and recommendations to stakeholders.
  • Finalize monthly payment certificates for contractors, ensuring timely and accurate payments.
  • Streamline and maintain cost and quantity records, ensuring accuracy and transparency.
  • Advise on measurement procedures and calculate interim and final quantities, ensuring compliance with contractual agreements.
  • Evaluate unit rates for new work items, ensuring fairness and reasonableness.
  • Establish record-keeping processes and monitor day works recording, ensuring compliance and accuracy.
  • Lead the preparation of variation orders, ensuring timely and accurate execution.
  • Lead the evaluation of claims, ensuring fairness and reasonableness.
  • Offer expert advice on contractual matters, ensuring compliance and best practices.
  • Ensure the completeness and validity of all contractual requirements, ensuring compliance and transparency.
  • Advise on contractor resource allocation, ensuring efficient and effective use of resources.
  • Prepare financial statements for monthly reports, ensuring accuracy and transparency.
  • Audit payments to contractors, ensuring compliance and accuracy.
  • Ensure prompt submittal and completeness of valuations, ensuring timely and accurate execution.
  • Check and record measurements of completed work, ensuring accuracy and transparency.
  • Monitor contracts final cost estimates, ensuring compliance and accuracy.
  • Maintain expenditure records, ensuring accuracy and transparency.
  • Coordinate and monitor activities of his team, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.
  • Prepare final account with all supporting documentation, ensuring accuracy and transparency.
Required Skills and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in quantity surveying or a related field.
  • Minimum 15 years of demonstrable experience in all aspects of contracts.
  • Proven experience in analyzing contract variations, claims, and initiating and reviewing written correspondence.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Strong understanding of construction contract commercial documents, engineering drawings, and specifications.
  • Working knowledge of software associated with contract management.
Desired Skills and Experience
  • Qualified and chartered by a recognized international body such as the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) or Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (CIArb).
  • Experience with FIDIC contracts.
  • Experience working for a consultant providing internal and external advice.
  • Ability to work autonomously.
