Key Responsibilities

  • Guest Service
    • Provide warm and friendly greetings to guests, ensuring a welcoming atmosphere in the bar and lounge areas.
    • Thank and bid farewell to guests, conveying anticipation for their next visit.
  • Table Management
    • Assist guests with table reservations and seating arrangements.
    • Ensure guests are served within specified timeframes.
  • Menu Knowledge and Presentation
    • Have a good knowledge of menu items and presentation standards.
    • Speak with guests and staff using clear and professional language, and answer phone calls using appropriate telephone etiquette.
  • Food and Beverage Service
    • Serve food courses and beverages to guests.
    • Set tables according to type of event and service standards.
  • Point of Sales and Inventory Management
    • Record transactions/orders in Point of Sales systems at the time of order.
    • Communicate with the kitchen regarding menu questions, wait times, and product availability.
  • Cleaning and Maintenance
    • Maintain cleanliness of work areas, china, glass, etc. throughout the shift.
    • Review order dockets to ensure accurate and timely preparations for order requirements.
  • Shift Closing and Cash Handling
    • Presents accurate final bills to guests and process payment.
    • Perform shift closing on the Point of Sales terminal and tally cash and credit card settlements.
  • Teamwork and Leadership
    • Work with fellow staff and manager to ensure the restaurant achieves its full potential.
    • Take an active role in coaching and developing junior staff.
  • Hotel Standards and Hygiene
    • Ensure that hotel brand standards and SOPs are consistently implemented.
    • Adhere to Hotel's Hygiene and HACCP standards.

Qualifications

  • Related experience including at least 1 year in the same capacity or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Good practical, operational, and administrative skills.
  • Strong leadership skills.
  • A naturally outgoing and friendly personality with a passion for service excellence.
  • A true 'team-player' mentality and flexible attitude towards a diverse set of tasks.
  • Excellent communication skills.
