As a key member of the healthcare team, they work closely with radiologists and other medical professionals to ensure accurate diagnoses and effective treatment plans.

  • Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Performs patient studies according to established protocols, including placing coils close to areas of interest.
  • Operates imaging equipment, adjusts transmitters and receivers, and enters data on keyboards to photograph images.
  • Interviews patients to explain procedures, address concerns, and exhibit tact, courtesy, and poise when interacting with patients, staff, and visitors.
  • Safeguards patient and staff safety by explaining protocols, removing hazardous metal objects, and monitoring patients via closed-circuit TV.
  • Orients new hires and trains colleagues in MRI procedures.
  • Supervises MRI employees in the absence of supervising technologists.
  • Completes related duties as necessary.
Requirements:
  • Education:
    A High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Certifications:
    A Radiologic Technologist Certificate and a Certified Radiologic Technologist - Venipuncture Certificate are required within six months of hire.
  • Experience:
    At least two years of continuous experience as an MRI Technologist and proficiency in all duties required of a MRI Technologist II are essential.
  • Licenses:
    A Basic Life Support certification is also required.
