Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess and Report Compliance: Conduct thorough assessments of contractor compliance with contract Occupational Health, Safety, and Environmental requirements, and provide detailed reports to management.
  • Preconstruction Meetings: Lead preconstruction job explanation and kick-off meetings to communicate construction execution safety requirements as per the contract scope, ensuring all stakeholders are aware of their responsibilities.
  • Performance Improvement: Track and analyze Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to identify opportunities for performance improvement, and develop strategies to address any safety concerns.
  • Safety Training: Develop and conduct safety training programs for employees and contractors, ensuring they are equipped with the knowledge and skills necessary to work safely on construction sites.
  • Advice and Consultation: Provide expert advice and consultation to department staff to help maintain a safe working environment in compliance with environmental and safety regulations, standards, and practices.
  • Hazardous Conditions: Identify and evaluate hazardous conditions and practices in the workplace, and conduct surveys to assess occupational health, safety, and environmental conditions.
  • On-Site Inspections: Conduct and coordinate on-site inspections to audit physical conditions and safe work practices, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Compliance Advice: Offer advice and counsel regarding compliance with corporate safety regulations and procedures, ensuring all employees and contractors are aware of their responsibilities.
  • Safety Inspections: Perform construction site and/or area safety inspections of department facilities and operations, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in construction safety management
  • Strong knowledge of Occupational Health, Safety, and Environmental regulations
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
