The National Petroleum Construction Company Limited seeks a highly skilled and experienced Discipline Lead - Design to join our team. As a key member of our engineering department, you will be responsible for leading teams involved in the development of discipline-specific engineering drawings.
Purpose & Scope:
The Discipline Lead - Design will be designated as the Design Team Leader on larger projects, overseeing the design work of team members and ensuring that all assignments are completed on time and to set standards.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Supervise and participate in discipline-specific drafting activities carried out by drafting staff, ensuring timely completion and adherence to set standards.
- Study and understand the scope of work and specifications for each project, preparing basic drawings and allocating them to team members for detailed engineering drawing preparation.
- Act as the ultimate checker for all drawings produced by draftsmen, ensuring compliance with brief, consistency, and quality of work.
- Prepare the Bill of Materials for the entire project, ensuring accuracy and comprehensiveness of information.
- Provide input for the resolution of engineering queries from clients or third parties.
- Review 3D modeling.
- Undertake interdisciplinary coordination to ensure integration of project drafting activities.
- Work closely with discipline engineers to ensure speedy resolution of problems and adherence to project schedules.
- Resolve yard queries within level of capability to ensure conformity with drawings during construction phase.
Skills Required:
- Technical Diploma in Engineering or equivalent.
- 12 years of design experience, with a minimum of 3 years as Design Team Leader.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in the oil and gas field, preferably in offshore operations.
- Supervisory experience and team-leader qualities.
- Essential experience in 3D modeling.
- Good interdisciplinary knowledge.
- Good knowledge of written and spoken English.
- Experienced and competent Computer-Aided Design (CAD) operator.
- Rigorous checker.
