Job Title: HVAC Engineer-FM

Careers International is seeking a highly skilled HVAC Engineer-FM to join our team. As an HVAC Engineer-FM, you will play a critical role in ensuring the proper functioning, efficiency, and safety of HVAC systems within our facilities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • System Design and Installation:
    • Assess the heating, ventilation, and cooling needs of various facilities.
    • Design and plan the installation of HVAC systems to meet those needs efficiently.
    • Oversee the installation process, ensuring that systems are correctly installed and comply with all relevant codes and standards.
  • Maintenance and Repairs:
    • Conduct regular preventive maintenance to ensure that HVAC systems are operating efficiently and reliably.
    • Diagnose and troubleshoot issues with HVAC systems, including heating units, air conditioners, and ventilation systems.
    • Perform repairs or coordinate with external contractors for complex repairs.
  • Energy Management:
    • Optimize HVAC systems to enhance energy efficiency and reduce operational costs.
    • Implement energy-saving measures, such as programmable thermostats, variable speed drives, and high-efficiency equipment.
    • Monitor energy usage and performance metrics, making adjustments as necessary to improve efficiency.
  • Compliance and Safety:
    • Ensure that all HVAC systems comply with local, national, and international safety and environmental regulations.
    • Conduct safety inspections and risk assessments related to HVAC operations.
    • Implement and enforce safety protocols to protect personnel and equipment.
  • System Upgrades and Retrofitting:
    • Evaluate existing HVAC systems for potential upgrades or retrofitting to improve performance.
    • Plan and execute system upgrades, including the selection of new equipment and technologies.
    • Ensure that upgrades integrate seamlessly with existing infrastructure.
  • Monitoring and Control:
    • Utilize building management systems (BMS) to monitor the performance of HVAC systems in real-time.
    • Adjust system settings remotely to maintain optimal indoor climate conditions.
    • Respond to alerts and alarms to address any issues promptly.
  • Client Interaction and Reporting:
    • Liaise with clients to understand their specific HVAC needs and ensure their expectations are met.
    • Prepare reports on HVAC system performance, maintenance activities, and energy usage.
    • Provide recommendations to clients for system improvements or cost-saving measures.
  • Team Collaboration:
    • Work closely with other departments, including electrical, plumbing, and general maintenance teams, to ensure coordinated efforts in facility management.
    • Supervise and train junior technicians and maintenance staff on HVAC-related tasks.
  • Innovation and Technology Integration:
    • Stay updated on the latest HVAC technologies and trends, including smart HVAC systems and renewable energy integration.
    • Implement new technologies that can enhance system performance or reduce operational costs.
  • Emergency Response:
    • Be available for emergency repairs or adjustments to HVAC systems to prevent downtime or discomfort in critical areas.
    • Develop and implement emergency response plans related to HVAC failures.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Educational Background: A degree in Mechanical Engineering, HVAC Engineering, or a related field.
