About the Role

We are seeking a seasoned Business Analyst with Data Quality Issue Management and Financial Services experience to lead and support our client in the identification, design, implementation, and embedding of new data issue management practices.

As a key member of the Data Management team, you will work closely with our client's senior leaders and stakeholders across the business, including Data Governance, Legal, Compliance, and Finance.

Your role will involve leading project areas, managing the unexpected, and ensuring all impacts of change and new ways of working are covered.

You will have excellent analysis, change management, communication, and business transformation skills, and you will confidently and diplomatically manage stakeholders while gently coaching and sharing your knowledge.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work in a team of Business Analysts to define and achieve client objectives and deliverables
  • Create, define, and implement data-related guidelines, frameworks, control standards, handbooks, and instructions
  • Successfully create and obtain buy-in and sign-off of a new target operating model
  • Generate and deliver education and awareness of Data Management across the bank
  • Successfully create a transition plan in readiness for implementation
  • Ability to lead complex discussions/facilitate workshops with project stakeholders
  • Document data requirements aligned to in-flight and new projects
  • Lead delivery on data mapping, conversion, and migration activities to support in-flight projects
  • Coordinate project teams, planning resource, and task allocation
  • Manage all aspects of risks and issue management supporting services
  • Report on Data Framework compliance, identifying relevant KPIs and KRI and Assurance
  • Define, implement, operate, and report on End User Developed Applications (EUDA) control framework and inventory
  • Tracks project performance, reporting regularly to stakeholders
  • Ensure team members are provided with support and tools to successfully complete tasks
  • Manage Change Requests within the project, ensuring impact assessments have been undertaken and communicated to stakeholders in an efficient and effective manner
  • Operate the Data Compass processes
  • Lead the design of data quality controls
  • Co-ordinate testing and transition activities for new data quality controls
  • Plan delivery
  • Monitor progress
  • Track RAID items
  • Quality assured deliverables
Requirements

We are looking for a good all-round Data Governance Analyst who has been there, seen it, and delivered it.

Someone who has worked on a variety of projects where they have led from start to finish in a range of organisations and sectors, ideally Financial Services.

Someone who exudes confidence without arrogance, who is able to articulate issues and looks for solutions, who is able to adapt to different organisational cultures and client bases and someone the client can instantly have confidence in.

Essential skills and experience include:

  • Proven experience of Business Analysis specifically in a data management
  • Extensive experience of process mapping, design, automation, and implementation within Data Governance
  • Proficient in using Business Process Modelling Tools (Visio or equivalent) and MS Office Suite
  • Experience of business process re-engineering and operating model design within Financial Services
  • Strong experience in defining data governance frameworks and control standards
  • Essential experience in data mapping, conversion, and migration activities
  • Good attention to detail/quality mindset, strong analytical approach
  • Strong influencing and networking skills, ability to develop internal/external business relationships, uses knowledge, skills, and experience to influence others
  • A passion for collaboration and driving customer experience
  • Experience in creating and influencing new ways of working, frameworks, and models

Desirable skills and experience include:

  • Experience of both agile and waterfall methodologies
  • Worked for a variety of organisations
