  • Conduct initial mouth screenings and review oral health history to identify potential issues
  • Identify conditions such as gingivitis, caries, or periodontitis and develop a plan to address them
  • Clean and protect patients' teeth by removing plaque and applying fluoride as needed
  • Educate patients of all ages on proper oral care techniques, including good brushing habits
  • Provide instructions to patients after dental procedures or operations
  • Take X-rays or dental impressions to aid in diagnosis and treatment
  • Collaborate with dentists to select appropriate treatments for various diseases, including oral cancer
  • Maintain accurate documentation and charts on each patient
  • Monitor and manage dental supplies to ensure a smooth operation

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Dental Hygienist or similar role
  • In-depth knowledge of health and safety regulations in this profession, including HIPAA
  • Experience in preparing and maintaining dental equipment
  • Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients and colleagues
  • A patient and friendly demeanor to put patients at ease
  • Attention to detail to ensure accurate documentation and charting
  • Physical stamina to meet the demands of the job
  • Diploma in Dental Hygiene; a Master's degree is a plus
  • A valid license to practice as a Dental Hygienist
