Job Overview:

Asterix Communications is seeking a highly skilled Hook-up Engineer with 6+ years of experience in brownfield and greenfield offshore hook-up activities on high CAPEX projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in offshore engineering and be able to lead discipline detail planning sessions with all levels of the organization.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Participate in pre-engineering and pre-construction surveys, providing field guidance as needed.
  2. Review drawings for constructability and identify any specific issues, coordinating resolution with the project team.
  3. Develop and review discipline scope of work, schedules, and specifications, ensuring understanding of requirements and deliverable expectations.
  4. Review material requisitions in compliance with project specifications prior to ordering.
  5. Aware of planning and milestone activities, and involved in facility handover requirements.
  6. Develop and issue final Hook-up construction work packs.
  7. Monitor scope changes and input to DTCMS.
  8. Ensure all engineering deliverables (drawings, materials, and procedures) are available for hook-up execution.
  9. Identify and prepare discipline Hookup MTO and coordinate with fabrication team.
  10. Prepare Hook-up task sheets and review task sheets as appropriate.
  11. Efficiently sequence HU activities and review Hook-up schedules, synchronizing with other disciplines.
  12. Enable resource forecast and manpower loadings.
  13. Manage timely delivery of documentation, fabrication, materials, personnel, and vendors aligned to Hook-up schedule.
  14. Provide field guidance and ensure compliance with Company specification.
  15. Coordinate materials with load-out plans at yards and ship to offshore locations in optimum vessel sorties.
  16. Attend coordination and progress review meetings and report Hook-up progress on a daily basis.
  17. Travel to different region facilities onshore/offshore to assist project teams and coordinate execution aligned to project schedule.
  18. Monitor and report implementation-related changes and growth during the course of the project, specifically related to HUC-B.
  19. Participate in HAZID discussions and asset incidents/hazards investigations, communicating findings to PMT and Senior HU Engineer.
Qualifications:

Essential Qualifications and Education:

  • 6+ years' experience in related offshore engineering fields.
  • Hook-up execution exposure with Qatar Clients preferable.
  • Ability to develop robust Hook-up procedures and deliver aligned to Hook-up Plan.
  • Ability to lead discipline detail planning sessions with all levels of the organization.
  • Exhibit leadership skills within own discipline and provide assistance to trainee engineers/freshers.
  • Interpersonal and Client liaison skills that create and sustain high-quality relationships.
  • Demonstrate willingness to handle a variety of tasks to support business needs.
  • Familiarity with Offshore Codes & Standards.
  • Follows company safety plans and procedures.
