About the Role

This is a highly visible platform to shape key decisions, working closely with the General Counsel and executive leadership. As a Senior Legal Counsel, you'll have the chance to influence business decisions, lead negotiations, and contribute to high-profile corporate and M&A activities.

Responsibilities:

  • Negotiate complex commercial agreements, including construction contracts and joint ventures.
  • Provide expert advice on legal and regulatory matters, ensuring compliance with evolving legislation.
  • Drive strategic outcomes through M&A due diligence and corporate transactions.
  • Manage dispute resolution and litigation matters, collaborating with external counsel when necessary.
  • Develop and implement policies to enhance risk management and compliance.
  • Represent the legal function in senior management meetings, embedding legal considerations in business decision-making.
  • Mentor and develop junior legal team members, fostering a high-performance legal function.

What We're Looking For:

  • A common law qualified lawyer with 5-10 years' experience, ideally with construction, commercial, or corporate expertise.
  • Strong commercial contract expertise, balancing legal risk with business objectives.
  • Experience managing external counsel and working on international legal matters.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills, engaging at all levels of the business.
  • Strong leadership capabilities, with a collaborative and solutions-focused approach.
