Compensation and Benefits: This position offers a competitive salary range of $90,000 to $100,000 plus bonus and profit-sharing opportunities, as well as a flexible work schedule.

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled Midstream Oil and Gas Accountant to join our team at LHH Company. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing allocations of plant liquids production and residue back to the well head and at the tailgate of a plant, as well as preparing sales invoices, purchase settlement statements, and record entries into the general ledger for the purchase and sale of natural gas and liquid hydrocarbons.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Allocations and Invoicing: Prepare allocations of plant liquids production and residue back to the well head and at the tailgate of a plant, using spreadsheets and/or allocations software.
  • Financial Reporting: Prepare sales invoices, purchase settlement statements, and record entries into the general ledger for the purchase and sale of natural gas and liquid hydrocarbons.
  • Fee Collection: Prepare and invoice producers and shippers for various gathering, processing, and treating fees, and record entries for such in the general ledger.
  • Customer Service: Answer producer questions, provide meter statements, and settlement statements.
  • Tax Compliance: Prepare monthly and periodic tax reports for filing and payment with various state and federal agencies.
  • Financial Analysis: Analyze and explain monthly and seasonal fluctuations in volume and amounts as compared to prior months and budget.
  • Financial Reporting: Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual internal and external financial statements and reporting packages.
  • Accounts Receivable: Follow up on payments and invoices to assure accurate and timely collection.
  • Prior Period Adjustments: Prepare, post, and process prior period adjustments for payment and/or invoicing.
  • Reconciliation: Reconcile volumes and values from spreadsheets and allocations software to the general ledger.
  • Plant Balancing: Balance the plant monthly to assure all quantities and related values are properly captured and accounted for.
  • Coordination: Coordinate with plant personnel to understand (and explain, if necessary) plant operations and output, and coordinate with commercial sales and gas purchase personnel to understand and use product pricing and contract terms.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or General Business.
  • Experience: 3-5 years of experience in a similar role.
  • Software Skills: TIPS software experience is a plus.
