Job Description

GHD is seeking a highly skilled Senior Electrical Design Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our electrical design team, you will be responsible for designing and developing electrical systems for various projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and Development: Design all electrical systems ensuring compliance with industry standards, local regulations, and authority requirements.
  • Electrical Drawings and Schematics: Create detailed electrical drawings, schematics, and layouts for all electrical systems, including interior and exterior lighting design, small power distribution, cable routing, fire alarm, earthing, and lightning protection.
  • Design Documents: Prepare comprehensive electrical design documents, including drawings, specifications, schedules, and technical reports, utilizing ACAD (AutoCAD), Revit, and Navisworks.
  • Project Coordination: Handle several electrical design tasks for multiple projects and collaborate closely with architects, and other engineering disciplines to integrate electrical systems seamlessly into project designs.
  • Technical Guidance: Provide technical guidance to external stakeholders throughout the design and coordination process.
Requirements:
  • Experience: Proven experience as an Electrical Engineer, preferably with a focus on UAE projects.
  • Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of local regulations and authority requirements, such as DEWA, ADDC, and UAE FIRE CODE.
  • Technical Skills: Strong technical capabilities in ACAD (AutoCAD), Revit, and Navisworks for designing and drafting electrical systems.
  • Electrical Load Calculations: Familiarity with electrical load calculations, power distribution, voltage drop analysis, and cable sizing.
  • Electrical Engineering Software: Proficient in using electrical engineering software tools for analysis and design.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Communication Skills: Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders.
  • Project Management: Ability to work independently and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
