Job Summary
We are seeking a highly experienced Lead Technical Safety Engineer to join our Abu Dhabi engineering team. The successful candidate will have extensive experience in the oil and gas industry and a strong background in technical safety engineering.
Key Responsibilities
- Participate in project HAZOP, HAZID, SIL studies, and other safety workshops as required.
- Provide technical advice and solutions to a variety of technical problems within the discipline.
- Develop and implement loss prevention and fire protection philosophies.
- Perform physical hazard effects (PHE) modeling using PHAST or similar software.
- Conduct emergency escape, evacuation, and rescue studies.
- Design and implement fire protection and engineering systems, including fire water PIDs, fire water demand calculations, and passive fire protection studies.
- Evaluate tender bids for fire and safety equipment.
- Coordinate with other disciplines during design development, construction, pre-commissioning, and start-up.
- Communicate with clients and team members in a professional manner.
- Ensure compliance with relevant discipline-specific procedures and provide feedback for continuous improvement.
- Participate in internal audits and maintain competence according to industry standards.
- Stay up-to-date with relevant regulatory frameworks, legislation changes, and industry technology developments.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or a related field.
- Minimum 15 years of experience in the oil and gas industry.
- Minimum 6 years of experience in EPC companies.
- Experience in gas processing FEED projects is mandatory.
